for pud I've had 2 twinks which had also been frozen.

Nuala - I'm deffinitely doing your mushroom risotto again as I still have some arborio rice left, it was so delicious that I'll invest in some value mushrooms I think!

Mmmm, twinks - I'll be making those some day. I've never tried freezing them, thanks for the great idea.:T

I liked that risotto too - even after having it for dinner 4 days in a row! Must try it some time with proper arborio rice.

I had a lovely pizza in Milano's (the same as Pizza Express). A nice change from mushroom risotto lol! And it was really cheap since we had a voucher, weren't drinking, shared a starter and had tea back home rather than at the restaurant. It came out of my "Treats" budget rather than groceries.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

You can freeze the dough too....
I make up the complete mixture.
    Then split it into thirds.
I use one third that day
And with the other 2 thirds, I roll into a long sausage shape, then wrap in clingfilm a few times, and pop them in the freezer.
When I take it out to cook, I let it defrost, and cut the sausage shape dough into discs, and cook.
I prefer doing it this way... cos nowt can smell as good as cookies cooking :D

    Potty :D

Thanks :T - that's pure genius cos the recipe makes loads and I couldn't fit them all in the oven at last time. Oh the smell is delicious but it means I'm usually ready to eat the whole lot as soon as they're done!:D

  • It's great to see this thread so popular  In the last couple of days I've used these things from my freezer:
    • nectarines (bit past their best to eat fresh, so bunged in the freezer :o ) into smoothies
    • HM apple and calvados sausages into sausage casserole
    • mini HM gallettes for today's lunch
    • pittas for yesterday's lunch, split, filled with cheese and sliced HG tomatoes, then 1 min in the micro :j
Today I'm making a frozen spinach and HG squash lasagne and onion soup using frozen browned HG onions and HM frozen chicken stock
