    I will............. if it's a success, if not ...........i'll lie :o

can anyone remember on one of these threads someone mentioned something about lentils looking like mince, are they the red ones or yellow ones??
I'm going to try and sneak some in tonights dinner:D
Bit late now, but I do remember someone saying that but don't actually remember them saying which colour.

Have you got any idea of how many posts on this board have the word lentil in them? :D

Red lentils turn yellowy when cooked

Smiley_Mum that recipe sounds yummy so I'll definitely be giving it a try this week :)

I've got a big tub of lentils, been wondering what to do with them.

    I have another recipe.

    Potato and bean bake.

    Two tins of chopped tomatoes
Two tins of kidney beans, drained.
    Two onions chopped up
    Some mixed herbs.
    Few cloves of garlic crushed.
Big pan of mashed potato, add in some milk, butter and some salt and pepper till it's gloopy.

Fry the onion with the garlic in a little olive oil until it's soft.
Add in the tomatoes, kidney beans, some mixed herbs, salt and pepper and heat through.

Pour into a big casserole dish and then cover it over with the mashed potato.

Bake in the oven for 40 mins at about 180/190 deg C, just keep an eye on it.

    Brilliant thanks :)

It's so much easier for people to find recipes there than it is to look through dozens of different threads for them, so I'm trying to encourage everyone to post their recipes into the collection when the urge comes to post one :) and then all they have to do is say something like:-

I have posted my pasta and bean thingy wotsit for you HERE

    Or something like that :)

If you're reading EVERYTHING I'm surprised you have time to make trifles. They're a right bunch of chatterboxes in here!
