can't see why not. Unless, do you think it might separate?

yeah i guess we didnt really know how it would behave as neither of us has ever frozen it before.

in true storecupboard styleeee I used the remainder of the curry today and turned it into veggie chilli by adding (dented) kidney beans and some more (dented) tomatoes :D

served it with jacket spuds this afternoon and had the rest with tortilla and pitta bread this evening.

got another turkey joint for tomorrow and I've put that in already on low.

my neighbour made it and it had onions and garlic and tom paste in it plus what I presume to be garam massala and some form of coconut milk/cream with turmeric, coriander and I think she said cumin. she had made so much that she donated some to me cos shes nice like that :) its more of a tangy curry than I am used to - probably a bit srilankan or malaysian influenced. would have been great with lentils

I'll see if she is prepared to share her secret recipe

actually - someone here may know - we didnt know if it would freeze with the coconut stuff in it - any ideas folks?

There shouldn't be any problem freezing coconut milk based curry at all - i'm sure i've done it before.

no I didnt try - I turned it into a sort of veggie beany chile (chilli) the next day :)

I had korma and frozen that before so I suppose it would be ok - but I have also made thai curry before and its gone funny after cooling then reheating - so I guess its a bit of trial and error and luck of the draw type thing.

neighbour was impressed that i made it stretch to so many meals - I think it was 8 at last count all told.

I found this worked very well filled up my family of 3 adults.

2 small onions chopped into frying pan with a little oil and a little chopped garlic (optional) Add tin of tomatoes ( I usually chop them up while they are still in the tin) add 1 beef oxo made to 1/2 pint, finally add 1 tin of corned beef diced, while this simmered Cook spagetti. serve with garlic bread.

I think it cost about £1.10 and was all just sitting in the cupboard

    I've been Money Tipped!
Count me in! I've got to start making a dent on all those tins of tuna! I also have lots of pasta and rice and quite a few tins of condensed soup. Oh and more than a few onions from the box deliveries . Other than pasta bakes not sure what to do but know that somewhere I have read an article on a mix and match casserole type meal. I will go get the book and post recipe on here later.

I've been doing this for the last two weeks and don't think I'll ever get through some things. I certainly know what NOT to buy in the future

I keep finding things I have squirelled away - who needs 3 unopened kilo bags of basmati rice when they live alone! Talk about overstocked cupboards. I'll be eating rice for years to come.

To use up your onions a kilo at a time you could make a batch of Curry_Queen's World Famous Curry Sauce :)
