I ALWAYS have green lentils in (the tiny ones like puy lentils) - I use them for a delicious lentil, cabbage and bacon soup from Delia's complete cookery book. It makes loads, is like a proper meal and freezes really well. Click here. It tastes fine with dried parsley. This is my favourite soup :j

Cook, mix with equal volume of cooked petit pois, gently fry some garlic in olive oil then add lentils and peas, splash with lemon juice before serving. Can't remember where I got this from but it's a wonderful side dish because it can be served cold, warm or hot and tastes great every which way!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I think red lentils are sweeter and green ones more lentilly. I like to have a mixture in so that when I make a lentil dish there is a difference in texture/view but the green ones take slightly longer. Crazy Jacks organic ones are the best from Mr T.0

I had a packet of dried chilli peppers in there - bought over 2 years ago I think. It was opened so I guess that the flavour was gone and threw it away.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
