Recently got my Cap1 classic with a £200 limit and 34.9% APR.

Today just got accepted for Vanquis Classic with a £250 limit and an APR of 59.9% OUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Got to make sure I pay this one off in full!!!!!!!!!

On the road to recovery though!!!

How long should I use these for before applying for maybe a Sygma card? I have 1 CCJ and 4 defaults, all to drop off in 2012 I believe.

I just got the limit on my silver card increased, I called and asked how long you normally need to hold an account for an increase and the guy said 3 months, which has just passed and if I pass the credit search (not sure if it will show as a subsequent enquiry as I take it is with Equifax), which I did, I was entitled to a 30% increase, so that makes it £1300 and they are willing to look at it every 4 months after that, I assume again for 10%.

Of all of the banks I have dealt with they have really been the best (the Co-op are good to mind you), they are polite, dont try and sell you things you dont need, they are in the UK, they make Barclaycard look like some kind of tatty stall on a market, especially given Barlcays profits. Barclaycard customer services is a shambles, it is bad enough they dont speak english to a good enough level and unless you ask for the spelling you will never get someones name, then they start getting shirty with you because you are not playing along to their scripted answers.

I know who my business will be going to in future.

Hi James, well done on the increase.

I have held my Silver Mastercard since March this year, so does that mean I will be able to ask for an increase this month?

    Cheers.

Yep, I look on the website (for one it worked) and I clicked on statements and at the bottom there is a box that say I think last month, 2 months ago, 3 months ago, etc. I could not get further than 3 months ago so I assume if you can bring this up and you pass the search you will also get the 10% increase. It was all done very efficiently and professionally.

Good luck, let us know how you get on or if you have not reached the 3 month what happens when you ask after that. I will log onto credit expert and get the start date for my account and edit this.

Edit: it is showing as started on 24/02/2010.

Sygma Silver said no to my application today. They suggested I should try Vanquis.

I already have a Vanquis card with 13 month perfect history :(

Made £100 tonight for about an hours work. Got to love matched betting, though I'm finding it hard to find bookies now. How is everyone?

I was declined instantly, and the search showed the limit they were considering for me of £500. I have a good bit of credit all in good order but I think the fact some of it is so new that is why I was declined. I was given a loan by my bank of 6k and when I call up now to ssk about the value of pending debit card transaction I dont get the sales pitch and I asked and was told "your up to the limit, sorry". Not that I need fortunately just think given it is my own bank and and another company raised my limit very quickly they should in the old fsshion language "be able to see I am good for it".

They search Experian. Showed as GE something then the name of the company changed on the search to "santander cards" I thought they were ment to reprt fact as and at the time it happens, so changing a search itself although it was going to be there anway I thought did ot live up the the rules the state they operate to.
