Good morning everyone.
I would like to apply for an overdraft increase today (currently £200, Halifax Ultimate Reward current account), does going into a branch make a difference or I should just speak to them on the phone? Also will they carry out a credit search? Thank you.Flybe - £1500 19.9% ||| Silver Mastercard - £2000 18.9%

Log on to online banking, click amend overdraft and you'll see a guaranteed limit, whatever that amount says will be instanty allowed - there and then! If it is lower then obviously do not apply, as it will reduce the limit...
for instance:
Current O/D Limit = £200
Guaranteed Limit = £500
Then you click to amend and select £500 as your limit.......Let us know what it says and what you do!

Unfortunately they removed the guaranteed limit a while ago. All it shows now is Current O/D Limit £xx. They also removed the option to see interest rates on savings accounts and the option to close a saving account. :mad:We’ve had to remove your signature. If you have the Halifax Ultimate Reward Account you must be paying them £12.50pcm for the privilege - are you sure you are getting your monies worth? Plus your overdraft fee of £1 per day
I know you get £5 back pcm but golly - are you sure? Don't you just want the standard Reward account that gives you the £5 back with no monthly £12.50? You will still have to pay the £1 per day overdraft fee though.
Sorry for being nosey.2013 TARGET £30k

Told you Natwest couldn't organise a !!!!up.... they appear to have just cancelled my old card (that I "lost") and left the new one that was in the post active (well it showed me my balance at the cash machine so I'm guessing it works)... so fair play to them for that, I thought they'd end up blocking the pending card too so I'd get 2 cards and 1 would work and 1 wouldn't.... But it's that new VISA debit...
Slight problem.... they have decided that I'm now called ZAK... how did that manage that one!?!?! I've always been Zack with them!
And is it a cheque guarantee card? It has service card 100 or something on the front, and a cheque referral number on the back.... I have some cheques somewhere but I've had them for ages with my old card (which wasn't a CGC). And is it a offline one? That will work on planes/pay at pump etc? 4751 if that helps
And the cash limit is £250 a day? Thought it was more than that? Looks like I'm going to have to make sure I go get my holiday money from a branch!
Why don't you just read the literature that came with it, its like a booklet and it explains everything in there..0 -

Gutted to see Halifax have removed the pre-approved stuff from online banking... I'm not so keen on going with them not! That's the only reason I wanted them!0 -

I saw nothing about cheque guarantee in there... Or whether the card is offline card or not... google tells me it can be used on planes etc though....
!
Well i am quoting page 4 when i say;
"For those rare occasions when you have to write a cheque, your serviceCARD also guarantees your cheques up to the amount shown on your card."
In the booklet for debitCARD it says that it won't work in unmanned petrol pumps and anywhere the card cant seek authorisation. It doesn't say that in the servicecard book because the card is Offline and does work.0
