Guys i've just created a new thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2515897

Its to do with Credit Cards and the Everyday things like Utilities etc that accept CC payments and the % they Charge to do so.

Hope you'll all spend just a minute giving your own personal experience for me.

When you get credit searched and the company find a ccj on record do they take into account the amount its for and how long ago you had it or is it just " Ccj a no go " sort of thing ?

    Hi everyone,
I have managed to open a smile bank account. I opened their savings account first to try before opening the current account.

I did ask them if I'll get approved for the current account as I had too many searches. They explained to me that I wouldn't be declined based on searches but I would be declined if I had adverse data on my file.

They phoned my landline number but the mrs told them I had traveled. They didn't ask who my employer was, which was good for me because I dont like disclosing it. Let's say my employer wont even confirm that I work for them anyway. That was why I couldn't apply to First Direct.

Not sure why people are having difficulty getting CC'sand bank account here.

for the records,I have 2 defaults, one CC and one bank account.

despite this While on benefits (for 6 years) I managed to open 3 current accounts and 3 CC's, total limit across them all approx £15k.

the secret is bank account "churn", open a basic account, pay money in,take it out continuously.

this way the bank thinks you earn more money than you do and next thing they are throwing stuff at you!
