It varies, as when I applied for the PO card a few weeks ago they searched my EX file exclusively.
It's late and I'm tired so I CBA posting a screenie now but I can tomorrow if anyone's interestedCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Also the defaults have not caused any declines with vanquis, shop direct or jd williams.
my barclaycard and cap1 card were reinstated.
Correct me if im wrong but i have read that some companies wont go back further than 3 years if all active account payments are upto date.
I also read that defaults have less an affect on credit status when they get older. Is it worth giving them a call as i have a refrence?
Not saying defaults dont affect me though.
I will update when i get a decision. Fingers crossed.:)
Mate i'm just saying, expect a decline if the defaults are recent....
I was the one that originally notified people on here about the default calculation in scoring modules - lol. The way it works is pretty much if the default is <1yr then forget it. Paid or settled. between 1-3yrs then you have a chance with a few sub primes and if it is over 3 years then you should be ok so long as you avoid the top cards, amex/virgin/egg and the likes....
The accounts you currently have are all sub-prime thus getting the better of the sub-prime cards (Sygma) is definitely a step forward....
Good Luck - let us know how you get on mate :T2010 - year of the troll

Was that disputed mate? I thought several of us confirmed it? I know for a fact they searched both of my files, Equifax first and Experian follow up - in fact BoI have a tie in with Equifax so they will always search them first no matter what.
Oh and yea, I do have their card (12 months before they let you increase limit as well!)
This includes their partner cards such as PO card. They will never search Experian alone UNLESS it is for a bank account - bear in mind their preferred supplier is Equifax and they will ALWAYS search them if you apply for a credit card.
Anyone who says otherwise is talking whoop whoop mate lol :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

Mate - they never exclusively search Experian - that would be impossible..... they search equifax then revert to Experian follow-up when something is missing that the system tries to find. They will have left a soft footprint maybe, but your Equifax will have been searched - no question of it being missed.
They pay Equifax way too much to not use them PLUS they are in the middle of a tied agreement.... so they are paying if they use them or not, lol.2010 - year of the troll

Morning mate
Don't be so pessimistic - maybe you won't get declined - yesterday we were being harsh cos of some of the history... obviously we want people to be successful - just learn to chill a bit yea? lol
Have you tried Sygma Bank? They use Equifax, as i've just explained over the page yes, BoI will search Equifax but they will do a follow up to experian if something is amiss on your Equifax file or ANY linked addresses.
Post Office is harder than the BoI card in all honesty - plus PO do tend to search Experian alongside Equifax......
For exclusivity to Equifax, you're running out of options - Sygma is a good bet. See this thread here: Credit Reference Agencies - Who Really Uses Who?! UPDATE

See my last couple of posts, I explained how this works.... so long as they get the data they need from Equifax NO Experian search will be done, at worst a soft search may occur.
Primarily they use Equifax, then go to Experian if they need to check something out, that doesn't match, for instance.
Sygme is the only lender, that I know of, that exclusively uses Equifax for everything.... Even John Lewis do search Experian, again, if the Equifax search does not pull up enough relevant data.2010 - year of the troll
