    Better than a straight decline!

What's your credit file like these days?

Got 4 defaults back in 2007 when i was out of work but have been paying them back for over 2 years now.

Have got a vanquis card £2k limit, capital one classic £1700 limit and was able to get my barclaycard reinstated back in nov with £900 limit. All accounts have been reinstated/opened within the last 2 years.

all my accounts are satisfactory and upto date apart from my 4 defaults.

I also put NOC on both my credit files to explain the reason for default.

    Guys advise please,

HSBC BS quite low although account run ok. I am thinking of applying for the JL card however in the next few months plan to apply for the HSBC CC. If I am declined for JL will this cause HSBC app to decline.

No mate - not if you want to get the HSBC card - you'll have higher chance of that, being you bank with them and they can do a branch override if you apply in branch...
