You should apply if you want it? TBH NID has over 50searches so you shouldn't get declined on searches.

Bad advice mate. 20 searches in 12 months is bad and the OP has already said it is affecting them. NID is perculiar lol.

Urgh... IMHO Lloyds TSB are infinitely better than Barclays in every department, including:

    Shorter queues in branch
    Shorter queues on the phone
Fewer CRA checks with Lloyds (e.g. open second current a/c search free)
    More pre-approved offers with Lloyds
    Inland call centres with Lloyds
Better integration between their credit card wing and current account wing
No need to have a card reader to use online banking
Barclays offer Full Auth Visa (4658) on Current A/C by default, Lloyds don't

There's more, thats all that springs to mind at the moment!!

    What about HSBC vs Lloyds?
    Bank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500

    What about HSBC vs Lloyds?

If you can see past the pretentious attitude of their in branch staff (they all look down their nose at me because I'm not 48 years old with gold / diamond cuff links) and get a full account I suppose HSBC could edge ahead but they are very strict and won't even give me a cash card account.

They are so rude and unhelpful when trying to open a cash account also - the branch sais they don't do cash account apps in branch to go online - so you go online which says call to apply so you call to apply and they say no, go in to branch to apply.

Hate them with a passion. They put through an app for a full account despite me categorically stating CASH ACCOUNT and the lady in branch said "don't come back until your BR order has dropped off your file"... not with that attitude love!

My Barclays Visa Card begins 4539 - that is full auth as well aint it? As I can use on trains etc - does that mean my Lloyds TSB one wont? What about Halifax?

My Barclays Visa is also CGC and contactless ;)
