NID - My mate applied for BoC account, and they said this in an email to him:

We require a copy of identification (e.g. passport/driving licence) from each applicant.
All documents provided should be certified as true copies of the original by either your current bankers, a solicitor or an accountant

did you get that?

how did you send them?

They need to verify him, I was electronically verified so that will be why I never sent anything in. He must be new at his address or omitting from the E/R?

Oh, my mortgage has just started reporting too which must help me - it will deffo confirm my residency lol.

He is on E/R, been on it for as long as me (2 years or so) - did they put that in your email chap?

Did you see the pages about Bank of Cyprus? Seems so far there was only me and another that got accepted..... weird eh? And today they are sending me the cheque card... cool :D

No, I never applied for a Bank of Cyprus account because I can't be doing with the hassle of having to transfer them £10 and if declined you'd have to wait for it to come back.

Still can't get a HSBC account, I'll try them again in April, but definitely going into branch.

I aim to close at least 8 of my accounts. Do you reckon it will look bad if I close too many accounts at once?
