My fags are £4.92 a pack but I can make a pack last 4 or 5 days. It's one of my little luxuries
  • My embassy no1 are £3.50 a pack..... Obviously the best MSE way is to import your own; isn't it? lol....

2wks in the canaries pays for itself if you risk it and being back the EU allowance each, if customs collar you then you act daft and let them take them. I got caught once, so with 3 adults bringing back 15 cartons each that cost £14 = £630 lost.

But when you get away with it and walk straight through customs, means i've saved £49 per carton which is an average of £2200 each trip.... so you can see for yourself, its easy to see where the free holiday comes in.

Obviously you need to be prepared to spend your annual cig allowance in one go and also be prepared to lose it at customs.....

Just for the record I do not sell cigs, as a smoker I use them myself!

:rotfl:wow! I took loads of Vodka back, but it wasn't a massive saving on UK prices....

BTW if I was to fly to football in Scotland would I get to use the duty free? Or is it only people actually going abroad that can? In which case, would flying to Dublin for football count!?:D

Oh and JDW have to be the most overpriced ever! Even the local shops don't charge completely stupid prices!! I just got another of their annoying emails, this time it was for a 70% off sale so I thought I'd take a look - everything is still massively overpriced!!! :rotfl:

Yeah, why sell them when you can smoke yourself into oblivion. :rotfl: I brought back a few thousand from Portugal, which lasted a few weeks. I had to bin some of my clothes so I can get some more packs in my suitcase.

I tried visiting the duty free when I was in London, waiting for my flight to Scotland and they wouldn't serve me because I was travelling within the UK.

You have to be travelling outside the EU to get the cheap booze and fags
  • I have had a Aqua card since last January with a £900 limit, I used the card always and paid off each month in full, six months later the limit was increased to £1200 again I used the card and paid off in full.

On my capital one card my limit has just increased this week to £2100 and again I use and pay off in full, so today I check my Aqua statement online and I have a balance of £57 and a limit of £400 !, so I call them and they say there is no problem with card they are just being 'Responsible', which I take to mean that they make no money from me and since last November I have only used the card a few times and again always pay in full.

I will now close the account as £400 is no use to anyone and I have told them so, but I guess it would have been nice to have some prior notice as it could have been embarrassing if you thought you have money on the card only to find out you don't.

Damn, that's why they took my boarding thing off me and scanned it then :(. I'm off to Dublin then! £99 for 2 people, add in football tickets then bring back a load of stuff :rotfl:. Be nice to do if I ever got a 0% deal with a decent limit. 12k of booze on 0% for a year!? :rotfl::D

What was your old Capital One limit? If the rise to 2k was significant then Aqua would've got that in their monthly feed so that could be a factor, they may think you can no longer afford both....but profit would play a part too no doubt

Knowing my luck when Cap1 put me up to £200 Natwest will slash my limit, but then I'm hoping even they aren't that stupid because I use it a lot so must make them a fair bit.....

And I'm about to try for a cash advance..... gonna ask the shop if I can use a card to pay for like a fivers worth of stuff but they can whack the bill up to 25/30 and give me the rest in cash......
