    Isn't the MBNA a mainstream card? It's 18% apr isn't it?

Yes it's mainstream and yes it's 17.9 % apr but some people here seem to think the criteria may be a little bit lax.

May not be appropriate for anyone with nasties.

Yup the Classic card is 17.9% but they can be more accepting of people with a limited history than your average prime card, in my experience :o

sorry didnt see your post before I submitted mine. thanks

No... MBNA are quite strict on pasty nasties, but I got the classic card with about a year history, low salary, still living with parents, etc (this was several years ago, mind). Not exactly a high scorer!

So it's great for those with limited history IME :)

    Yes they did.

Capital one also gave me a smaller limit 2nd time around:D
I see your limit is £400 now, isn't that set to increase after 4 months though? What was your old limit? They can't give me a lower limit, if anything it would either be the same or decline :rotfl:

What will my limit go to if I started with £300 on the progress card?

Yay i just checked Barclays pre-approved offers and it said I can increase my overdraft to £600. I wont though. why will they give me 600 overdraft but will only give me 260 CC? my limit has been the same for 8 months. mind you i dont use my card very much. I never used more that £20.

dont quote me on this one but i hear a lot of people tend to get double their initial credit limit when they get increases, at least for the capital one classic card.

My first capital one card I was given a £400.00 starting limit and no increase on the 4th statement:T

I closed this card and applied again and was given £200.00 starting limit which was increased on the 4th statement to £400.00:rotfl:

I don't have any nasties apart from 1, 2 and 3 markers on contract phone (Vodafone) which was settled in Oct 2004....so over 5 years ago!

Jacamo are right annoying me, last month my min payment was £41.41 with a service charge of £3.97....this month it is £37.90 with service charge of £10.09, but the balance is roughly the same, anyone have any idea what they are doing here, cos I dont. Or are they just making it up as they go along?

    Grrrr same with JD Williams:

Jan: STMNT NO. 5 AMOUNT DUE 30.44 Service Charge £3.76

Feb: STMNT NO. 6 AMOUNT DUE 30.65 Service Charge £6.22

Just what on earth are they doing?
