Just in case anyone needs clarification:D
Did they search you again? I'm assuming they did?0 -
Can't wait to try this, but only having a £350 limit again would probaby not be very helpful, plus I want the 0's, so want to wait until my credit file is fairly good.... Unsure whether to go for the one up or for the one I've got now....while I'm still a student I'd pick the one I've got now I guess...

Yes they did.
Capital one also gave me a smaller limit 2nd time around:D0 -
Mine took 4 days, though they did say 5 weeks. I'm impatient though and applied straight away. I'll have to wait for the card before I know I've definitely been accepted.
i am in the same boat as you - impatience lol. will close account and wait for a week then reapply. if they say no, i'll say shove it where the sun dont shine lol0 -

I have held an account with them since 2002 but i had my account closed in 2007 cos i lost my job. Capital one agreed to reopen an account in 2008 with same credit limit. they then upped it to £1700 4 months later.
I currently have 16 accounts on file.
4 Defaults in 2007 and are being paid off.
No missed payments since 2007.0 -

Actually i believe you can reapply again as soon as your classic card account is closed.
I got a reply from the Capital One's Secure Message Service.
Thank you for your message. I can confirm that once you've closed you existing Capital One account, you can immediately apply for a Capital One Progress card. Please note that although you are eligible for a Capital One Progress card, we can't guarantee that we'd accept your application because each of our cards has different lending criteria. I hope that this information helps you. If you have any other queries, please send us a further secure message.0 -

Isn't the MBNA a mainstream card? It's 18% apr isn't it?0

Yup the Classic card is 17.9% but they can be more accepting of people with a limited history than your average prime card, in my experienceCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
