Well, some good news after my spate of bad luck trying to get a consolidation loan, I applied for a current account and credit card with NatWest, current account accepted but declined the credit card on the grounds of affordability (that was their reason) so I appealed.

When appealing they asked the reason and I told them I was wishing to transfer my Monument and Capital One balance over.
Today I checked my Equifax file and they done an unrecorded search, so I phones them and said I have been accepted with an £850 limit on their classic card, over joyed now I can get rid of both of my high interest cards.

Not sure if I will get the 0% for 15 months as advertised but I will wait and see.

Have you got the cards yet? If not then don't bank on it (sorry for the pun)..... Natwest approve me each time but then I return forms and they send card, then they close account a week later (application verification unit).....

Hope they do as they say, but just bear in mind they are a nightmare - Natpest gave me a card with a £4k limit - then a decline a week later when I was due to receive the card lol (I thought it was a little thin for a new card when the decline came) :rotfl::rotfl:

Aren't you an ulster bank customer? Can you have a Natpest and Ulster card, isnt that like two in the same umbrella?

Yes I have an Ulster Bank Visa, the only restriction I am aware of is inter-group balance transfers i.e Natwest to RBS, Ulster to Natwest etc. No mention of multiple RBS group cards though.
Are the appeals not done through AVU? This was an underwriter over turn, they have the final say do they not?
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Oh dear! I haven't heard anything, but then I can't print so they haven't had my ID yet. Going to see if I can have my mates card to print from their account, so should finally get it sent this week!!

AVU are the last stand mate, they get involved once you've returned forms, if they are ever going to involve themselves I suppose. What I mean is you have sales staff, system generated pass/decline, underwriter, AVU.... in that order.

I have won 2 appeals, and AVU closed my account a day after opening by an underwriter. They then refused to budge confirming they overrule any other decision and have the final say. I still think they are an internal fraud dept that only check dodgy applications, that is why they pull those that possibly 'beat the system score'...

I don't know enough about them, just that they are tight and strict! :rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry to hear your troubles NID. I found it very amusing that Egg has accepted you and when you check back to see they have declined you - just like that!
You MUST sue for libel for CRA's for holding false info - haven't you been in court with them and won??

Anyhow, can't believe you applied to Halifax 100 times - no wonder why they slapped a CIFAS on you! What on earth were you thinking of? For a laugh?

I got my tesco CC and PIN yesterday and successfully transferred £1,250 balance from my other credit card tonight. So looks like i have passed the AVU...thank god for that!

I am tempted to do another credit application, as i know in a few weeks time, the tesco CC will appear on credit file and will make it harder to find further credit.

Which ones do you recommend me to apply -easiest card to be accepted that are not subprime other than Flybe CC, Silver Card and Tesco?

I think you gotta try an MBNA mate..... worth a try and they are the ones with good offers....

I applied to HBOS like that to annoy them, no other reason.... lol.

I got out of court payments from Equifax & Experian totalling £11k yes. But this time i'll have Lloyds direct, will be a bigger fight and a bigger payday :rotfl::rotfl:

What CIFAS did you get for applying 100 times? Unless you used dodgy info surely they can't do anything about multiple applications? Even if you did take it to the extreme!

Because they incorrectly linked me to an account I never had so I kep applying to prove my details were different but they wouldn't listen! They told me to take them to court and prove it, I declined as I need them to take me to court, grrr :mad:

So that ended stalemate with them winning the battle of wits cos 'legally' unless I call their bluff they can add the cifas - I thought about it and realised that after gaining a payout from the CRA's a judge will not award me anything for the same, linked offence that I got paid out for previously.

In a nutshell, it'd be daft to fight them - it'll be gone next month! :D
