I nearly didn't press apply either, sat thinking for about 10 mins before I did it, as I didn't really want the search on my files, but thought what the hell.. Glad I did!
I've got a default from Capital One from when I was 18, back in the day when I didn't even know credit files existed :rotfl:Due to drop off in 2 months though! This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
Well done! Aqua is harder to get than Capital One Classic.
Bizzaire how Halifax do their scoring... they recently rejected my OH for an Aqua card but accepted him for a Reward current account...
Aqua is a totally different department, I assume they'll have their own scoring criteria.
I got rejected by Aqua just shortly after I went mainstream, lol. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Appiled for a current account with Alliance and Leicester yesterday, it got referred, just checked my email on my iPhone and I've been accepted!!!! Surprised or what!! So I thought I'd write a quick note on my iPhone to say.
. I didn't realise they'd referred it at all for me, or done a credit check! I thought it was a standard thing to say they will make a decision in a few days, but I applied out of hours so obviously it was referred, and it's obviously standard for credit checks for full current accounts (Halifax!!) - I only got it to use as a savings account for the 5%, but when I realised it was a full account reporting 0's to CRAs
:D
Just about to start my letter to Halifax! This should be interesting....
I still can't understand the decline, I'm an existing customer (although don't use the account much!), they've verified my ID and I've never gone into any kind of unauthorised overdraft with any bank (well apart from when Natwest screwed up but they fixed that, eventually) and I don't have any intention to use any overdraft (authorised or otherwise!) and don't want a cheque book I just want a decent card (and the £6.25 or whatever it is a month/0's).
Also I know (as NID explained) with full accounts there is the potential to go overdrawn, but if I've never done so on any account surely they should give the benefit of the doubt for a start, and secondly surely I can go overdrawn now on a kids account if I was to setup a CCA? So that means it's basically the same account??
I think they're just being stingy about who they give the free money to, because that's the equivalent to quite a high rate of interest....0 -
i have had my cap1 classic agreement through the post after a decline then appeal
Thanks to all on MSE0 -
Hi guys. Bit of advice please.
Been with RBS for years and opened another account in September and was a full current account (royalties gold) but just found out today that my visa card is just a cashcard plus card and not a full one (thought it was a full one till today) as I was asking the teller about my card being declined at pay at pumps. So anyway the done the credit check and gave me the card and chequebook back in September. I have an appointment on Friday with the person who deals with the accounts. Whats the best thing to say to them as I dont want another credit check but I want the full card.

kilasuit: What did you say in your appeal letter? What's your credit history like? Limit? Oh, well done
douggie1982: Tell them exactly what you just said here. Does the Visa card have a cheque garuntee limit? If not, then it needs to be upgraded to a cheque garuntee card.
They may want to see three to six months of account conduct before considering you for a card upgrade, but it couldn't hurt to ask.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Will do. Already have a couple of accounts with RBS showing my wages etc so will just tell them to sort it lol.
I did not think you could get a full account with just the cashline plus card still0
