RBS have two cards mate, I told you before lol. Blue one is the full authorisation (i.e. it needs confirming or it will decline) and the purple card is the full card like the old switch cards (usually cheque guarantee as well), i.e. it will work even if no phoneline is connected and use what used to be known as the floor limit.

The full authorisation card will not work at pay at pumps, on planes or on trains.

For instance at Pay at Pump you can usually fill up with like £59 of fuel - but only a shadow deduction of £1 is made at the time.

You basically need them to upgrade the card to a full card and not a authorisation card. They know the difference, there has been a lot of talk about it - the problem only occurred since the switchover to Visa as before Switch/Solo solved the difference!

Cheers NID. I phoned them asking for the purple card a few weeks ago when you said but no record of the card being sent. The woman in the bank said she has never seen an account like mine (full current account) with just the cashline plus card so I will just tell them they had better sort it out on Friday as whats the point of a credit check n stuff if I dont get the full card.

You watching the ever so eventfull game tonight then? lol

Hmmm, sorry I never knew you had the cashline card - that is wrong!

You get a debit card regardless mate so you should have got the Visa debit (blue) or the Chq Card (purple).... just tell them to sort the correct debit card with the account. If they do a search it should be unrecorded as you're not requesting additional credit (although technically you are if it is chq card) but regardless, one search wont affect much mate - just get the card sorted.

I am not watching us no, lol - i'll watch the Mancs beat each other to a pulp..... :D:D

Yes mate - some Yorkshire Bank ones were restricted and so are pay as you go ones. It is the BIN that identifies the card, not the banks or company that issue the card. :D

Will do. Already have a couple of accounts with RBS showing my wages etc so will just tell them to sort it lol.

I did not think you could get a full account with just the cashline plus card still

There are some customers with a full current account that only have cashline plus card on there account.

They might give you a full auth visa debit if you ask :D

Now then matey - I applied to RBS the other day and have the application pack..... they say all I need to do is send ID in, you know - the usual not decline but not accept letter!

I may go into RBS at the weekend with it and my ID and ask them to open it there and then, they will then say they have to send it internally - yawn yawn! Back to AVU and another decline - or maybe they won't? I'm confused what to do lol

Can you have any influence - lol... (bribe StClair) :D
