Yes mate - some Yorkshire Bank ones were restricted and so are pay as you go ones. It is the BIN that identifies the card, not the banks or company that issue the card. :D
Ah. OK. Just that my Maestro with my basic account has printed numbers on it but still allows me to use Pay @ Pump at Tesco. Just curious about the full-auth thing.

Cheers NID. I phoned them asking for the purple card a few weeks ago when you said but no record of the card being sent. The woman in the bank said she has never seen an account like mine (full current account) with just the cashline plus card so I will just tell them they had better sort it out on Friday as whats the point of a credit check n stuff if I dont get the full card.

You watching the ever so eventfull game tonight then? lol

You would have been credit checked because even though they have only given you a cashline card, you can still apply for an overdraft on your account.

Maestro was never intended to be full auth mate - it was the older JCCC (Joint Credit Card Company) that created the system and as a result of this system not being update freindly, thus we now see more Visa coverage which can authorise at each point of sale unlike Maestro.

Maestro used to take a few days to show, Visa never has that problem.

True, never thought of that. I just think there is no point in half arseing something though. Changed my lloyds account to this one thinking it was a full auth card though so just a tad pi*sed.

Now then matey - I applied to RBS the other day and have the application pack..... they say all I need to do is send ID in, you know - the usual not decline but not accept letter!

I may go into RBS at the weekend with it and my ID and ask them to open it there and then, they will then say they have to send it internally - yawn yawn! Back to AVU and another decline - or maybe they won't? I'm confused what to do lol

Can you have any influence - lol... (bribe StClair) :D

How much money you got lol

You could take your ID into branch it depends what AVU are looking for, the branch may be able to open it there and then on production of your ID. However if AVU want to do some more diggin the branch may just send the ID internally to AVU.

If I was you I would pop into your branch and ask them if they can order you a visa debit card. As the account it newly opened they may want to see the account running etc first before they consider issuing a CGC.

However to be fair i really dont know why there still sending out cashline cards. You would think they would just send full auth cards out instead:confused:
