Nice to see you CashFlow - have a good Christmas/New Year mate? Been spending on your cards lol.....
Hello Mate
I am well thanks,
Hows things with you?
I was good over christmas mate as I want to buy a car in the summer so just clearing up my debt.
If you want a laugh lloyds called in my O/D (3300) last month as I had wages paid into Barclays for a year, and then today no more than three weeks after my O/D was removed Halifax guaranteed me £1900
Don't think Halifax and Lloyds are sleeping in the same bed at the moment
Opened a Barclays account last year after reading about all the pre approved offers people were being offered on this forum but unfortunately computer has said no for the last year:rolleyes:
Finally starting to feel the benifit of all the credit searches that this evil;) forum forced me too undertake in 2008/2009 not being on my credit file.
I remember when I used to come on here and see that someone had got accepted for a CC and think nothing of applying for it, I really hope the goverment can do something about consumers being peanalized for shopping around:rotfl:0 -

It looks like Halifax refresh their "lending limits" over the 2nd weekend of the month.
Barclays refresh their limits over the first weekend of the month and are viewable online on the monday
Lloyds refresh offers on the 22nd of the month for my current account.
HSBC don't refresh them like that, you need to actually request an increase which is a bummer - it'd be nice to just log-in and see the available overdraft and select it if even for a month to help out whatever! :rolleyes:2010 - year of the troll

You're buying a car? What sort> New/Used - tell me more
I am a focus buff, sad whatever but they are soooooo reliable and roomy (even though i'm slim) and just love them. Although when we had a bump we got a Seat leon and they are smart - same as the focus really, a nice car so we may invest in one of those but they don't offer the same discounts as Ford do for cash buyers on new cars.... their loss I guess!
I think Lloyds and HBOS still operate totally indepedantly so that's not surprising - similarly, if you have debt with one they wouldn't be able to utilise RoSo to the other as things stand right now.
Regards to the government stepping in there is a white (or green) paper isn't there whereby the OFt are looking into whether soft searches should be performed more regularly, however the lenders argue that in doing so it will not weed out those desperate for credit and thus applying willy-nilly.
But that is what internal risk and governance is for, so the lenders should take into account the possibility of losses and therefore reduce starting limits excluding those that have a clear record of repayment from the CAIS data on the CRA's....
It can work, if only done properly.... I was considering setting up software with an IT Buff mate to sell to the lenders that could differentiate between the genuine and the needy but it wouldn't work as Experian already have something in the pipeline and the facility is there (as proven by Barclaycard Checker and comparison sites etc) but apparently the major flaw is the fact it hides the amount of app's you 'actually' make. :rolleyes:2010 - year of the troll

I know mate, pre approved offers is something that I really do look for in online banking as for one thing it does stop needless applications for credit elsewhere if you know what credit facilities your bank is willing to offer you:rolleyes:0 -

Right of Set Off (where they dip into other accounts to repay a debt)....
You use the multiquote thing next to the word quote, so click the posts you want to multiquote and then on the last one click quote and they all appear....
or you do it manually like this:USERNAME wrote:TEXT HERE
broken down like this (remove the gaps)_USERNAME wrote:TEXT HERE[ / quote]2010 - year of the troll
