  • Morning (just)
Thank you for all your lovely good luck messages for my daughter...sadly she just missed out, she needed 121 and she got 111, she was pretty upset but we are going to appeal as her SAT results were way above the national average so i think she just caved under exam pressure on the actual day. She was pretty upset last night and stressed herself out so much that she ended up with a really bad headache...she managed a good 12 hour sleep tho last night and is as fresh as a daisy now :)

Well i've been to work already this morning (6am start) so chilling for awhile before cracking on with the housework.
Lunch today is chicken enchiladas for the kids (waitrose reduced)
and dinner will be pasta with a napolenata sauce (waitrose jar which cost 10p...discontinued stock :) )

Hope you all are having as good a day as can be :)

    and happy birthday Hester :)

    Hi all,
Just done my 2nd week £40 shopping at Morries to get the £25 off. All the stuff I bought was needed (including 1ltr Gordons & 1ltr Smirnoff) well Xmas is coming. mmmm a little to soon for me.
I've lit the ingle-nook as it's a bit chilly here, a good excuse to start wrapping some prezzies in front of it before DGD arrives at 3pm and is staying overnight.
Having smoked cod'n'chips for dinner, cod is reduced by £2 a kilo off in Morries.

    ((((((((( to all poorlies )))))))))))
ANNIEMF sorry to hear of your DD's dissapointment.
    HESTER, Happy Birthday. _party__party_

That one's on my wishlist;) My mum is giving me some Rowan yarns for my birthday so that I can make something like this only smaller for the sitting room. I want to make a brooch like this too. I'm very excited about it :j Gosh I do love Lucy's blog, it makes me drool.

What a great idea :j My in-laws always like to buy me gifts, though I tell them that at my age it's no longer necessary ;) They have a John Lewis, so I'm going to ask DH to suggest some Rowan wool to them (and the book of flowers to DH :p ).

  • Good morning everyone  Not been here for a while, and not sure if I should post, as I'm not on Diva's list of people who are missed :p

Pen! I see your posts every day on the Flylady thread which is why it doesn't sink in that you aren't here too! You KNOW you are missed when you don't post, the same as all the regs are, and I cannot list every single one of them :p:p.

Plus you and Pink have all the board guide stuff to do, so it is understandable that you don't post everywhere every day!

So I hope you were only joking and I didn't really offend you.. I would never want to do that, really I wouldn't.

That blooming van is still in my parking space  ..... I know it's a bit petty but it's my space! Plus I'm going away to New Zealand for 3 weeks soon and have nowehere else to leave car easily, and couldn't dare leave it in a neighbours space for that long, even with permission!

If you know which apartment it "belongs" to, maybe knock on & have a quiet word, mention that you are going to be away for 3 weeks and would they keep an eye on your car in your space where their van is? Then it sounds like you are asking them a favour rather than getting grumpy!

...DD is off into town, and she is bringing a friend home for a sleepover, this is the girl who only ever has a roast on xmas day, her usual dinner is a packet of crisps , (mum is too busy to cook !!!) so tonight we are having tacos, and tomorrow a roast chicken dinner with lots of veg ;) she is a lovely girl and I would quite like to adopt her :D...

Maybe she would like cookery lessons when she comes to visit, so she can cook for her & her mum?

... Did anyone see Hugh F-W the other night? He and a French friend were cooking an obscure French speciality with mussels. They'd gathered mussels from the beach and they were all placed very close together on a board (outdoors), then they were covered in pine needles which were set alight. It burned out very quickly and cooked all the mussels which were then devoured. Goodness they looked delicious....

Ooh yes, I've seen Rick Stein doing them that way too...looks quite fun!

    I think that's such a shame! Although a 3 course-dessert meal sounds quite good...!

Happy birthday Hester - hope things settle down at work now :)

    Afternoon all,

Happy birthday Hester, have a good one, you deserve it:bdaycake:
Back to normal weather here to-day, rain and wind....great.

Not doing much today, so far have fed animals, had breakfast and read the newspapers and chatted with DS2 and nephew 2, I seldom see either of them so that is nice.

Dinner to-day will be leftover beef stew which OH didn't eat yesterday as he wasn't feeling great...seems ok to-day, won't ask as he has become progressively grumpier since his stroke last year.

Hugs to all who need or want one to-day, thanks for hat pattern Haribo, am always looking for them, that book could go on my wishlist too as books are the only things I ask for at Christmas nowadays....can now put bookshelves in all 4 spare rooms as well as in loft of one of the sheds.

    Enjoy your weekend all

    Marie.
