  • Morning peeps

I am off to Bristol today with 2 friends, to visit another friend who lives there and to go shopping :)

I made porridge for breakfast as I had no cereal or bread! And will take some banana bread with me for the journey. But that's about the limit of my OSness today.

I'm meant to be going to a 30th birthday party tonight, but I'm undecided at the moment as the friend I was going with has cancelled on me. I'll only know the birthday girl (who I only vaguely know through working with 2 years ago!) and her cousin who I used to work with in another job - but he has a bit of a thing for me so it could get awkward as it's not recipricated (sp?) :rotfl:so I'll see how tired I am after Bristol.

That blooming van is still in my parking space  I left note there Thursday night, which was still on windscreen yesterday morning when I went to work but had been removed by time I came home. It may have got soaked and unreadable so I'm not sure whether to put another one on! I have emailed management company for property about it but no reply yet. I'll ring letting agent Monday too if it's still a problem. I know it's a bit petty but it's my space! Plus I'm going away to New Zealand for 3 weeks soon and have nowehere else to leave car easily, and couldn't dare leave it in a neighbours space for that long, even with permission!

Have a fab day all! :D

  • Good morning all! Haven't managed to post on here for WEEKS due to the arrival of my little bundle of joy. Goodness knows how someone so small can make so much noise, create so much washing and prevent me from getting any housework done. But it's great fun anyway.

Trying to get back on the wagon this week. Yesterday I washed out a dozen jam jars for making 'Pots of Gold' and sorted out all the Christmas cards and wrapping paper saved from last year. All the meals I put in the freezer at the start of my maternity leave are just about starting to run out so a big cook up planned for this afternoon whilst DH looks after the little one. Lots of nappies to wash as well since we started with our washable nappies a couple of weeks ago - worth the effort though when I think about how much pampers cost every week!

Not sure when I'll be back... it's a treat to get on the laptop these days :-) Have a good weekend everyone.

    Good morning,

    Happy Birthday Hester foryou.gif

This past week I have been mostly finishing off the Christmas shopping before the shops get too busy.

Todays jobs are to hoover upstairs, do the little bit of ironing that I have, and to liberate something from the freezer (hm ready meals) in time for it to defrost for our evening meal. I could do with doing some baking this afternoon. I will have to ask the little people what they would like to make (only one child is mine, but there's usually at least two or three in here on a Saturday).

    Take care all of you

  • By the way meant to ask - where do we stand on BBD's for cream? I've got some double cream which is use by 15th November and it's unopened. I guess given it's 21st November it's a leeeeeeeetle too late to use it even by OS standards?

My MIL who was brought up on a dairy farm says that unopened cream lasts for ages after its due date :D Have a small taste and you'll soon tell ;)

Thanks Penny I will do. I wanted to make some more rum truffles with it so will open it when I have all the things perhaps later on today.

On a side note I have also got some eggs dated BB 22nd October. I tested them in water and according to that they are still fresh. Used them in some baking and have survived eating the cupcakes. In the past I would have chucked the lot (around 7 eggs) but now I don't :D
