.:o:o:o They didn't think it was a teacosy then?
I have 2 to do for Christmas but I want to knit different flowers which are driving me nuts. :rolleyes:0 -
sunflower76 wrote: »Morning,
I've been at work for three days this week so I've been far too shattered to pick up the laptop!
Today it's gloomy and looks like rain so I shall hurry and get the outdoor jobs done and then huddle in front of the fire today. I've got to go to the market and then to the local farm shop but that's it for me. Oh and tonight we're going to a birthday party which will be nice but there's NO FOOD! No Food? At a birthday party? I only found this out yesterday and must admit I'm dissappointed - I was looking forward to a free meal :rotfl:
This week had been nice and moneysaving as I've been Christmas shopping inline but everything I ordered attracted points from Nectar or Quidco. I got a brilliant deal on Hairy Maclary books (Book People) where a set of six was cheaper than buying the two that my niece wanted and they come in a nice bag. I've also bought the new Delia Christmas book for £5 and although I'm dying to look through it my Mum has bought it for me for Christmas so I had to promise not to look at it but to wrap it up straight away.
So why did I say 'HAD' been Moneysaving? Because MrS has a poorly car and it was towed to the garage on Friday. It's got to go to a special computer place on Monday and will cost plenty to be fixed I'm sure.

I signed up for an Abel & Cole veg box last week after a post on this thread. They've an offer at the moment where you order four, weekly, veg boxes costing £15 or more and they give you a £50 credit with the fourth delivery. I also put down my friend as having recommending me to them and they are sending her a £10 credit and me an Abel & Cole cook book. Not sure how they are making any profit here but it's a very good MS deal if anyone is interested. You can cancel after your fourth delivery so potentially, and assuming you'll use the veggies, it's a good deal. The first delivery came on Thursday and is really good quality. The original janiebaby0 -
PP - (((hugs))) so sorry to hear about the member of your family - its so sad for everyone concerned x
Had my letter finally from the consultant and I'm to have another loop incision the week before Christmas due to persistant abnormal smears.
I've had several of these before so not too worried but shall be glad when its over.
My friend Janet had her last day at work yesterday before her big cancer op. It was very emotional for her and us - lots of hugs and kisses plus lots of flowers too. If all goes to plan she'll be back at work at Easter time.
It is also approaching the first anniversary of Lesley's death and she's been on my mind a lot.
House now cleaned, ironing and washing done.Shopping list completed so just had a coffee and am waiting for DH to get home from work.
DS1 has also emailed me a list of things they still need for the flat!
Sunflower - hope you're not overdoing it! glad the hat went down well!:TDo what you love :happyhear0 -
I'm trying really hard to not think 'what shall I make?' and turn things round to 'what have I got and what can I do with it?'
Did anyone see Hugh F-W the other night? He and a French friend were cooking an obscure French speciality with mussels. They'd gathered mussels from the beach and they were all placed very close together on a board (outdoors), then they were covered in pine needles which were set alight. It burned out very quickly and cooked all the mussels which were then devoured. Goodness they looked delicious.
My lot have all gone into town to buy birthday presents for my sisters-in-law who have their birthdays tomorrow and Monday. OH always moans about the expense for him at this time of the year as it is my birthday in a few days too. It's a good job he doesn't know Hester as well -Happy Birthday Hester:beer:
I haven't decided what lunch will be yet, probably beans on toast. Supper will be spaghetti bolognese which we haven't had for ages.
I'm looking forward to Strictly tonight. I'm really hoping Jade will be able to dance and that Natalie and Vincent will get through.
On the subject of bra sizes, it is really difficult to find bras with a large circumference but small cups. I'm a 40A and it is nigh on impossible to get that size unless you want those old lady bras that start at your waist:eek:. I wear Sloggi crop tops most of the time. Of course all I need to do is lose some weight then I'd be a perfectly normal 36A.0 -
Cloudy here today, rain on the way by the looks of it - still fairly warm though.Hester, I hope you have a good day.
It's been a busy week one way or another and today is mainly going to be a chill day!!!!! I am going to change the beds, do another wash and we are going to watch night at the museum 2 this afternoon while I get rid of Mt Everest.:T:T I also need to pop in to town to pick up the other laptop as it appears to have been dropped (again!) and the hard drive had come loose. It's only cost £15 fo fix and this time the man has put some foam in place to help hold it in case it is dropped again. It's amazing how Mr Nobody makes an appearance in our house as everyone is adamant it wasn't them......
Xmas is sorted for the eldest, stocking fillers bought for all and just the other two to sort now and a couple of pressies for relatives. Xmas goodies have been bought and hidden away so just an online shop to do nearer the time for the food. The xmas tree we have is a 7 footer and much to big for the lounge so I will scout around for a smaller one when we are out. I quite fancy one of the LED ones but I don't think you can decorate those - shame really as they are gorgeous.
Anyway I guess I'll get the 10 past bus so time to get the kiddies organised.
Betheebee - nice to see you, I hope all is well with you. xxxxx
Haribo - sounds like you had a good day yesterday, my daughter loves all kind of craftwork too. xx
Gentle hugs to all in need today and I hope the rest of you have a good day.
Smoky. xxxx

Any chance of a pic and a pattern from Haribo, pleaseNothing snidey here. I just observed that I couldnt locate the daily thread as it was started by someone whose posts I cannot see..
That's nonsense  All that happens is that you can't see the post - the thread is still there for you to seeAnyone can check this for themselves - I did this by putting the OP of a thread on ignore (temporarily of course
) and the thread is still visible, but when you click on it the first post is obscured.

Here's the hat (the pic is rubbish. The hat is actually dark green and the sunflower is yellow and brown)
Here's one I did for DD and a few more for prezzies.
The pattern for the hat came from HERE
The flower came from this book which I'd really recommend.
While I'm at it here's one of the bunnies I did recently. I'm new to knitting and self taught so if I can do them anyone can.
Edited to add.. Thanks for the info about ignoring posters Penny.:A Churchie said much the same last night too.;)0 -
