Philippa36 wrote:I had a really difficult time separating from my ex ~ it took me a long time to finally get up the courage to split and then took courage not to contact him everytime I felt worried or concerned about him. You need to look after yourself, he's an adult and will survive without you, he did before you met.
Why?Must be the caring side in us. Sounds strange saying takes courage to not contact, a year ago would have said takes more courage to contact, now know what you mean.
Enjoy your holiday sounds like fantastic fun ahead.

It just occured to me, that we're all on here, thinking and talking about how good it would be to meet up with old friends, but we're a bit scared of rejection, yet we don't know real names - we could be each others long lost girlfriends, all thinking the same thing!!!! Go for it!!
I have met so many girls (and men, ahem!!) through the gumtree, and some of them have turned into my best friends!! I think if you get a good feeling through email or talking on the phone you'll be fine. She'll probably be a bit nervous too!!
If anyone is in London, PM me & I'll invite you to the group I belong to (unfortunately you need to be "invited" in order to join...) - its all free, and female only, I have met a great bunch of girls through it!! Its a shame there arent similiar things throughout the rest of the UK...

Do you know you are so right.
I am scared that if I met up with old friends they would not like me, I would be a let down... and also I am too tight to spend the money to join friends reunited! well I am supposed to be a money saver but you are right life is too short to have regrets.
Maybe we should make a semi pact or challenge each other. The one who meets up with the most friends gets a housepoint - sorry it is the teacher in me but I know that a challenge spurs me on.
How is everyone else doing?
Is everyone having a better afternoon?0 -
Hiya all
Feeling low still today so going to spend a couple hours on the computer then round to a 'friend' to see her. I say 'friend' because she is also my boss and everyone tells me she is two-faced and dumping extra work on me all the time. But, she is better than no-one, sad isn't it?
whatamess & philippa - I know what you mean about worrying about your ex-OH. I spent last week worrying that he might have done something drastic as another colleague at work took his own life last week. I left messages asking him to call, 7 days later he did and sounded fine. I must make sure I do not worry about him as he never showed any care or consideration during our relationship, which really hurts. Maybe some of us are too caring?
I'm booking things to do at the weekends - can I get housepoints for that?Previous debt: £14K :embarasse Debt free: Sept '03MFW#42 Mortgage OP savings £4271.18/£12000 2019

Morning friends, how are you today?? Its a bit
today, isnt it?
You were all in my meditation yesterday evening, didnt get (wind) blown away!!
Zombiecass - If you're ever down here around the Cheshire area let me know an we can meet up for a coffee and good chat
Ukbadger - Gumtree friend??? Trust your gut instinct (intuition), if it feels like the right thing to do then go for it. We'll all be here for you.
Sitting in the middle of the road meditating!!!! Felt like that sometimes on the fire stations busy nights! Fireman/woman anyone???
Whatamess - Yes, setting up a bath so its completely relaxing is like a smidgen of meditation. Multiply that feeling by ten when you first start meditating, then the more you meditate, the deeper you go so keep on multiplying that feeling.:happyhear
Careful girl - Please dont be offended, but it sounds like your OH is applying double standards to you and him. He sounds like he's not being flexible, but expects you to be. Instead of getting angry with you, he could use this energy to take steps in solving whats making him angry. You're ato have been 100% supportive for so long.
Thriftylady wrote:.......this meditation thing Urban Spirit, you must really have it sussed to be able to clear your mind in that sort of weather, with the possible distraction of being blown away at any time !
Do you find meditation is a skill you have to acquire? Like other posters mentioned, any time I try to calm my mind there is always something jumping round in there annoying me, I'd love to be able to tame my mind, even temporarily....
Thriftylady - I lift my spiritual self out of my physical self, and let my energy mingle with the winds energy. I know it sound a bit 'new age hippy' but its honestly not, its a wonderful feeling. Meditation is a skill you have to learn, much like driving a car. When you first get into a car you prolly think you'll never be able to do it, but with practise it becomes second nature. A good meditation will give you some self healing too.
Philippa - Have you got everything sorted for your trip tomorrow?? Have a fab time in USA, we'll all be thinking about you
Miroslav - I'm wearing Britney today. She is heavy
Sorry for the long post, bet i've missed something out!

I wish I was going tomorrow ~ I have to wait another week
I've just changed my savings into dollars via the M&S website....its frightening seeing all that money disappear out of my account but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I'm such a scrooge I'll probably come back with half of it
So you have to put up with me another week :shhh:“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Hey mp of course you can have some house points things seem easier when you are busy, try to not feel to down and sad :grouphug: so long as the light at the end of the tunnel isnt the express to victoria we should all be alright. Why do we still care about them after everything thats happened.
Ms_london did you note the day of your departure is the same as oberhon`sh degree absolute coming through. Double celebration.
wannabe do you find yourself `knowing` lots of people, but them becoming a friend is totally different?
same question to all of us really.
urban thanks for your thoughts will try practicing meditating but having difficulty finding a safe haven to send my mind.:rotfl:
twink know what you mean about feeling quilty for sitting but at the same time becoming enthusiastic about anything is difficult.
phillipa hope you have a fantastic time.
cg give him a kick up the bum (will that word get through the swear checker?):rotfl: withdraw your services, he does the ironing but does he help with anything else? Sounds a bit like he wants someone to knock the door and say `right you start work next week`or is he sick of knock backs?
Anyone I have forgotten sorry, difficult to remember what I want to say. Lack of sleep:(
Catch up later.
