Thank you so much waterlilyann and twink. Trying to calm myself but inot working. My reaction to them is extreme, thats due to events over the last 3 years.

I'm thrying so hard not to get chewed up and spat out by the system - union says 'youre gonna lose if you fight the sysem'. I'm not on a crusade, or not even being unfair or extreme I just would like to be placed somewhere I can sustain the job and my health at the same time. It can be done, but beaurocracy is standing firmly between me and common sense.

My manager pulled me aside and said to me 'why dont you just go now, youre gonna get sacked anyway'. I give up.

Sorry friends, I get really scared as there's only me that looks after me. I've done nothing wrong 'cept lose my health and i'd change that in a second if I could. Theyve been terrible these last 3 years, and i've been with them for 14.

i dont understand all that is going on but if your not going to be backed by your union its going to be difficult going it alone without compromising your health, i agree you shouldnt back down but is there no one who can fight your corner for you, is it not possible to get similar work elsewhere as your wellbeing is more important, love twink

Thank you. I have been looking for a different job since the start of the year but no luck yet. I'm trying to stay with them 'cos i;ve been with them for so long i'm not on minimum pay, and most new jobs would be which wouldnt cover my bills (I work part time). There's not many jobs ato chose from where I am- quite slim on the ground - and they tend to run a mile when you say anything connected with health.
Union are pretty useless now, they really dont want to upset managers.

    Hi again Urban,

I always find that these things do happen for a reason and it mey seem really bleak now but that's because the perfect job/opportunity is just around the corner. If your boss is saying to you give up as you're going to get sacked anyway it sounds as if you are not getting the right support from management and you should think about talking to HR (if you have one!). Perhaps if you lay out your situation and your lack of support they may be able to come up with some suggestions.

Is this job something that you've always wanted to do? If so maybe it's worth fighting for. If the answer is no, maybe this is the perfect time to find something you'll be happy doing. If this means getting any job for the time being (even temping??) to cover the bills and still contiue to look for the right opportunity for you.

I promise you, it is out there and your company sound like idiots to be treating you the way they are. They are not worth the tears and worry. You know you are in the right - that's all that counts.

Much love to you urban spirit - always here if you need to PM.xxxxx

    Hi Urban
Really sorry to hear about your troubles. Sounds like your manager is trying to get you to walk - instead if they do sack you they will have to give just cause etc. and you could do them for constructive/unfair dismissal. As you have been there 14 years a redundancy payment would be huge. Can't understand why your union isn't doing more - have you tried speaking to someone else about it?

Hi friends, thanks so much for your support.

I have tried speaking to HR but they want me to sort out the issues. Think because our HR is centralised and have changed companies 3 times due to cost cutting, Its a mess.

Have spoken to Union HQ who always send me back to rep. Ive changed reps once (first one was less interested) but that was a fight to do as HQ were very defensive.
Spoken to Disability Rights Commission too who say categorically my work are in the wrong but they dont fight cases that are obviously wrong, thats up to the union to do. Round again in circles.

I did love the job I did just before my health condition. Right now i'd settle for one that doesnt make me ill again and i'm relatively happy with (compared to the hell i'm in now). The deciding thing is the pay, not by choice but by necessity.
Have thought about temp work but my CV is 14yrs out of date. Very muh meant to update but not been thinkin straight enough to sit and do. Its a definite for the very near future though.

You are so right about my managers wanting me to walk. When the rep challenged manager after that comment -denied saying it, saying I was 'mis-remembering' things! As if you'd mis-remember comments like that. Union rep said had no evidence it was said. There's been lots of incidents like that.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for being here friends, I would've cracked up much worse without you.
