Last saturday I did my irregular stint babysitting for my niece and nephew and when I got home at half one I noticed a car badly parked about 5 doors up , as I approached I noticed there was someone in there even though the lights were off so I looked as I drove past and I am 99% positive it was my violent ex. I was really freaked out , came in and grabbed the phone ready to call the police , after about 5 mins he drove off.
I debated for ages about wether to call the police anyway or if I should contact him and ask what he was doing there. The last big incident was a couple of years ago when he drove his wreck of a car into my brand new car - this was followed by regular phone calls in the early hours when he'd slur drunkenly and play Gabrielles out of reach down the phone. I contacted him then by text saying he had to stop or I would phone the police , that I was recovering from major surgery and had a new partner - from that day nothing until last weekend.
Should I just hope that it was a one off ? I have been having a few silent calls too - it's worse as it was obvious that I was living alone , I hadn't shut the curtains and came back on my own.
Probably over-reacting but he tried to kill me once so it was really upsetting.
Hx
What he wants is contact from you - it spurs them on. Even if youre yelling 'leave me alone you loser' something in their brain tells them you still want to talk to them. Contact the police and tell them your violent ex was outside (dont say maybe as they may not take it seriously), and about the phone calls, and keep a log of future calls. If the calls persist talk to BT about nuisance callers - they can do loads including intercepting each call if it gets bad and only putting through ones they know are ok from you.
Your safety is extremely important, and i'm NOT trying to scare you hon. The more you make yourself safe, the better it is. Draw your curtains when you go out, have your key ready when you go home and keep your mobile phone by you. I would say also do not contact your ex, as I said above this keeps them going. It may be a one-off, but if he does it again the police are gonna wonder why you didnt report it.
(deep breath out) You scared me. I have had knowledge of this situation myself, and have helped several women escape from this for good. Someone close to me - her ex tried to kill her infront of the kids, only thing stopped him was the kids screaming. He's now in HMP for it.
I am in no way trying to scare you hon, and tell me to butt my nose out if you want no prob, but please dont think you can reason with him or he'll go away soon, make sure your safe. And sending much comforting and safe ((((hugs)))) to you xxx
This post sounds heavy, but trying to make sure your safe. I'll pm you my home number if you want to talk if he turns up again. xx
(ps - there's a zero centre near me if you need any help or advice, and its strictly confidential)

((((hugs )))) to everyone, thinking of you.
For me, life's too short to put up with pants partners. Wouldve loved someone nice to be walking down the seafront with me, but rather walk alone than walk with someone who's pants to me (even if I did get a dodgy look or two)
