  • Hi wannabe,

I am in a similar situation. I grew up in NI, but moved to Scotland to go to university. I met me OH there, and three years later we have bought a house and are very settled. I wouldn't give him up for the world, but I miss my mum desperately as she still lives in NI. I am an only child, so we have an especially close relationship.

I have adopted some of OH's friends but I still don't feel that I could call them up out of the blue for a coffee or anything. Anyway, you don't need to hear about me ... all I wanted to say was that I know how you feel and please feel free to send an email/PM, even if it is just for a moan or !!!!! about not wanting to do the ironing!

    Hugs,
    divorcingjack xx;)

Na its OK Messy! I just had to sit by a jump and tick a box if they jumped it. Some mums were shouting at their darlings who were flapping their legs and rolling off their ponies every now and again. But I chose a nice jump that the bigger ones jumped and only one fell off on the jump before mine. Pony cantered off and dad put wailing child back together. I provided a cuddle and tissues. It is pretty laid back. It has been camp all week and it was Fun Day. I wished with all my heart that I could have done it as a child but my parents never have and never will be interested in anything I do and wouldn't let me. Nick would have loved it. We'd have done it at flat out gallop! She would have jumped the jumps way higher than they were and i would probably fallen off!!!!!! :T So a lovely day. Took the dog. Left OH at home. He is behaving again.

Been out for drink with Mr 4x4 driving so behaved myself with the drink and anything else.:p

Quick question for people how on earth do I learn to fancy someone again when deep down still fancy `it` yet `it` hurt me so badly.
    Must need a brain/emotion transplant.:rotfl:

Hope the hangover is better cc.

  • Morning all,

Thanks for the welcome, I feel better already, having waded through quite a lot of the posts yesterday. You are all so friendly!

I am enjoying the peace and quiet as OH is still asleep after a dinner party with his family last night. I am waiting for the hangover to kick in - euurghhh. We have to go to a lunch today to celebrate his grandfathers 75th, not looking forward to the inevitable "when are you getting married" round of questioning, accompanied by "oh you're not pregnant yet then ...."

OH is really against marriage as his parents are going through a nasty divorce and every time someone mentions it, the chances of him actually asking me go down the toilet again. Arrrrgh.

Anyway, whatamess -well done with Mr 4X4! It is so hard looking at anyone else after "it". I feel stupid saying "give it time", so I will tell you about the levels I stooped to while getting over an ex. We had kept in touch via email fora while and when I last heard from him he was in New Zealand, working in a bookshop in Christchurch.

Not ony did I go to New Zealand in the faint hope of actually "accidentally" bumping into him, I spent three full days going through the phoneboook and visiting every book shop in the city asking if anyone knew him. Makes me cringe to think about it. Oh god.

Wine and hugs from all of us! And cake!:D

omg!!!! hell of a way to go to bump into someone:eek: . I am also very sad because I will deliberatly drive up his street on the way home from work. in the hope that i will catch sight of `it`. WHY,WHY,WHY I must have masochistic tendancies:eek: . When I do see `it` I just get mad  think i might be a closet bunny boiler:rotfl:

  • Here's something I did which helped a little bit. I had a box full of stuff he had given me, and reminders of our relationship, emails, photos etc. For the first while after the breakup, if I opened the box, I would be a heap on the floor for at least three hours, bawling my eyes out. However, I made a point of opening it on a regular basis and looking at the contents. When I felt strong, I would throw out one item from the box. Although I knew opening the box would upset me, doing it repeatedly took away some of the sting.

Eventually, crying time reduced and I was able to smile over some of the memories.

    Hugs xx

Morning cg, I have a list in my head of stuff that used to pee me off about `it`. The list is long and growing everytime I think of things.
Think seeing `it` has just raised a few skeletons had been feeling good for a while.
Being the summer am spending a lot of time down the sea front round the corner from where he lives. Since I have lived here have always spent a lot of time there. So to not go would ruin the summer holiday.
Never mind they say time is a great healer will get there eventually.
