short break needed - advice on location though

Options
Ok - heres the deal lol

i want to go on a short holiday, 7 days or so, need a twin room with 2 beds or 2 rooms - anywhere, dont care but i would like a good place for pics - so more of a photographic holiday.

anyway - dont care about sun - can be anywhere lol. i have a budget of about 250 each - so £500 - can go a little more though.

to leave from Edinburgh or Glasgow - anytime from september tthough november (i know december is costly to travel).

reason im asking and giving all the details is cos i just dont have a clue where to go, nor cheapest prices (would prefer to go in quiet time, ie not school holiday), so many places but tbh, ive not heardof many of them - swizerland has intrested me but tbh, i dont care where it is lol - i just need a holiday for a bit - not too fussed where.

thanks people :)

Switzerland is nice but a bit pricey, been there with Easyjet to Basel which is close to France and Germany so handy for day trips, public transport is quite cheap and very good.

Best to look at which budget airlines fly from your airport and think of the destinations.

If you plane well you should be well under budget. Think about Barcelona as it is a lovely place, went there a bit ago and got an apartment via www.rent4days.com as it was much cheaper then a hotel and worked out better for us. If you do book with them ask for a discount as I did and get one of the charges removed, we stayed at the Stylist Loft Apartment on El Born had 2 double beds and a sofa bed (6 of us stayed) but would be well suited for 4 as one of the beds is round the corner as it's all open plan.

Apparently Rome is very good too.

If you haven't been there already then I would go on a Nile Cruise. For your photographs you have buildings that are thousands of years old, the Nile and local colour. Make allowances for tummy bugs. Fly to Luxor and pick up the boat there.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Depends what sort of photography you want to do. Berlin could be a good option.

i would take the nile - looks really nice but not just now cos its a bit on the costly side :) (only got about £500 / £550 budget for a week)

as for sort of photography - im not in to "tourist" shots - im more in to nature, wildlife, landscapes etc... - Berlin seems a nice place though

when i looked at holidays on the web, there were soo mnay different places, it was hard to find a holiday that i loved cos every one of them were nice lol
