it always make me smile when an innocent money-saving deal turns into a battle of opinions.
It looks like its more suitable for primary school aged kids (mines only a toddler so we'll give him a few years before handing him the lock stock experience!)
The £35 a head ticket mentioned above is great value for all the days activities and some food too.NO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS
When did i stop being able to fit Hoola-Hoops over my fingers?:think:0 -
I would like to thank the Op for posting this because, if you would like to go then it is a great deal.
I agree with the above poster that I wouldn't/couldn't pay full price, but for half price it was an excellent event.
I took my 4 yr old twins and 10yr old DS. Just got home 3 hours ago, the kids didn't stop talking about it all the way home. There wasn't a minute that they were bored. My 10 yr old said is was possibly the best thing he had ever done!! We have also been to legoland, disneyland florida, butlins etc so that is quite a recommendation. I feel really heartwarmed (i don't think that is a word)by it all0 -
I wish I lived nr Lapland Uk coz I'd be there in a flash, I love everything about Christmas!!
Anyway, we are going to the Christmas event at Gullivers World in Warrington, haven't been before but looks good. There are 4 different packages cheapest being £12.50 a person and most expensive is £19.50 adult and £16.95 child (this includes christmas carvery)
I think they are doing the event at every site.
It looks really good value, my little un is 2 1/2 and I know she will love it, the child prices are for children over 90cm's which my DD is, but I don't mind as it means she will be able to go on more rides etc.
We've only paid £72 for 4 of us and that is entry into the park, hot meal, pantomine, Santa Express, present for children, snow and lots of other stuff!!
We are going a week tomorrow and really excited!!

We went the first year and whilst parts of it were very good, I was seriously unimpressed with the "flight" to get there, which consisted of standing in a tent while they projected The Snowman onto the wall of the tent and you could still see the grass under your feet  The kids were a bit confused, even at 4 years old, my daughter knew she hadn't gone anywhere, so that spoilt the overall experience for me.
There were other issues, particularly with regard to waiting around for each 'experience' on a very cold day, but the meeting with FC was fantastic, in a different league to the usual shopping centre grotto, but I came away thinking it had been a lot of money for what it was. The second year the prices were higher still, so we gave it a miss.
Just wondering about this late deal as 3yo DD2 is now just about old enough to appreciate it and I don't want her to miss out on something her older sister enjoyed. Have they ironed out the problems? Can anyone who has been this year tell me how they 'transport' you? Did you have a lot of waiting around?0 -

But for what we paid (£34.75 a head) we had an amazing time and would definitely go again. We were there for a total of six hours, and enjoyed all the activities, including the two-course meal and the ice-skating. It really was worth every penny & my children (aged 5 & 8) were amazed from start to finish. There was nothing tacky or nasty about it at all. Everything is lovely and very well done, and from the moment you enter everyone stays in character - even when we ended up in First Aid! Father Christmas was one of the best I've seen.

We went yesterday and absolutely agree with the above. Our 5 year old really loved it - and is a veteran of theme parks and the like.0 -

Just seen this thread and thought i would add that we took our 2 boys, aged 5 & 8 last year at a cost of £340. Overall i was disappointed especially with the tiny meal we received, the kids were starving afterwards! However.......the kids thought it was brilliant and the looks on their faces and the memories that go with it are priceless. We had a photo taken with father christmas at an extra cost so be prepared for that but my eldest was beginning to question if santa was real before we went but when he knew his name and knew what toys he liked his little face lit up.
I'm sure it's probably a lot better to go to Lapland but we couldn't afford that so i'd say to others in a similar situation, go for it just the once for the kids and you won't regret it. My boys still talk about it and were hoping for another "invite" this year!!
One bit of advice if you go, be careful when going to see father christmas.....when we left his log cabin the kids wanted to explore further into the woods which OH was about to let them do when i stopped them because they'd have been able to see through the trees that there were in fact 4 log cabins in a row, each with a father christmas inside, they'd have been gutted if they'd noticed that and it would have completely ruined the day.
Also take the time to listen to one of the stories in the wigwams, the woman we saw was brilliant. To anyone who goes, enjoy!!0 -

They abandoned the 'flight' after the first year, in fact it's not even in the same place as the first year. I think they had quite a few teething problems but when I went (yr 2) there was nothing that I would have changed.
The way they tranport you now, is that you are lead through an enchanted tunnel by an Elf, you stop in the middle where the kids are taught the song they need to sing around lapland and then you are led out of the tunnel into 'Lapland' It's really well done0 -
We bought the £67.50 tickets with the 'buy 2 get 2 free' offer for my 8yr and 4yr old daughters. It was fantastic. The eldest is convinced she went to the 'real Lapland' and met the 'real' Santa. Only problem is that she now thinks Lapland is in England!!!0
