The Snow Dome in Birmingham is supposed to be very good and it's real snow :)

The Snowdome is in Tamworth, Staffordshire. It is close to Birmingham but it ain't Birmingham;)
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.

Nothing steep about it at all! You comparing it to a freebie grotto now that's steep, or some would say ridiculous!!! A 4-5 hour experience complete with ice-skating, a meal, visits and interaction in the toy factory and the gingerbread house, huskies, storytelling by the Sami's and the magical atmosphere can not be compared to Bluewater's free grotto!

How you can be so negative about it when you haven't even been is bizarre.

How you can be so vitriolic over someone's opinon is what's bizarre :D

The reason I'm being negative is because it looks completely naff (and overpriced!). As I said - each to his own - one person's fake old tatt is another person's happily spent 200 quid. Whatever floats your boat. Simples :p
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

  • Sorry is this is slightly Off Topic, but for the last 4 years we have taken our Kids to the 'Santa Sleepover' event at Alton Towers and they have absolutely loved it. It isn't 'cheap' as such, but imo a really lovely experience and worth the money.

We are going again this year in Dec (3 Kids and 2 Adults), you get to stay for 1 night in the Hotel, access to the waterpark for 2 days, access to the Kids Rides (in Sharkbait Reef this year) for 2 days, Christmas Dinner, All you can eat buffet Breakfast, See the Reindeers, Visit Santa and his Elfs, Evening Entertainment, access to Hotel Gardens and Golf Course.
I think it came to £290 this year .... (things are always more expensive for families with more than 4 though!) BUT I do scrimp and save most of the year and this is our Families Xmas Treat... and I justified it to Mr Zipybungle by saying that it worked out at less than £60 per person ;) (which I didn't think was too bad when you get all the above included)

The Hotel is always decorated beautifully and one year they even had a snow machine in the hotel garden.

Getting back to the OP, this sounds like a great offer for those who would be visiting Lapland UK anyway, but if anyone is nearer to Alton Towers then this may be a good alternative.

    Zippy x

Have a look at this guy's video from last year (bear in mind, these are his edited highlights):

Yup I guess everyone's opinions do differ, I looked at this and thought "oh dear". I know it's a grabbit but giving a balanced opinion has always got to be worth it - it's not really money saving if you get a bargain on something that's not worth it!

I completely agree! If you've been and thought it was a rip off/waste of money fair enough. But personally I wouldn't take any notice of somebody having a go about a place if they've never even been!

Which is why I'm ignoring Mrcow's opinion! ;)

I see it like this...this is a money saving site...so yes dont go and save a bundle. This place is too far for us and by the time we paid for hotels etc its would be a small fortune. Therffore if you dont go you save money

If you have the means to pay then use the offer - hence money saving again!!

Two options both saving money - the money savng site wins again and every one saves some cash!

Saying that my 5 year old is amazed at our local gardn centre - kids are more easily pleased than we give them credit for.
  • The local school were asked to visit for free so there may have been early reviews from people who when then.
Am very annoyed as my daughter is part of the Playgroup but was not invited as she is only 2 1/2 but after hearing from everyone how fantastic it is I looked for tickets but not going to pay the full price looked on google theres a site that is doing them half price from £39.50 they only have ones from £49.50 available (link below). Iv'e never used this site but was thinking about booking through them as theres 3 or us.

I guess we can all concede that Bewl Water is never going to compete with -25 degrees in Finland on Chirstmas Eve, but saying it's automatically a step up from many of the free Christmas experiences on offer if you do your homework as some on here have done on this thread is a bit steep.

Cleopatra - if you do go - have a good time and come back and post your experiences on here - I'm sure we'd like to hear ;) Make sure you get the 2 for 1 though!

I should not have watched that, I'm quite disappointed now. No-one looks excited, they all look quite bored!
