you shouldn't let them bother you, people can be really mean, what does it matter as long as the message is clear?
I actually mark English Lit GCSE papers and believe me some of them are unreadable,
but if I were marking your post above I'd say that even with the 20 odd mistakes it is perfectly acceptable and readable, and you're right people should get off your case and leave you to carry on your fine work on this site  :)

I was speaking generally Franky as I have noticed a few getting corrected on here (this site).

Like Rush said when it's for a formal letter you do it correctly, but for here this chat forum does it really matter.

I've seen the book you keep quoting to tell people to read, has it struck you that it could be quite offensive to some.

From this bit of your vent it seems as if you are ranting at one individual. I have seen someone (cant remember who) quote this book which is why I'm thinking along these lines.

I agree with your general point but must add that I've read bits of the book and from what I remember it's a lighthearted bit of fun about punctuation. Maybe the person quoting the book was trying to have fun ;D

As long as the post is understandable then I have no problem.

Sometimes we are in a rush to try to help someone before we get booted off the computer so our posts can be a bit erratic as regards spelling etc but I have more of a problem with genuine comments being derided because of a slip of the finger when typing in a hurry
