ok silliness over...........I agree with you Pat,it don't matter if it ain't perfect as long as it's legible ;D ;D
What we also mustn't forget is that this site is also used by folks who don't consider English as their first language :-/..........................who are we to nit-pick :)

yeah Q thats why i queried if that is what pat was talking about - cos actually the reference to the book was made for the poster of the comment I quoted to have a read and have a chuckle at. cos the poster was talking about how sky tv didnt get their grammar correct in their response to the customer. but pat says thats not what shes talking about so I must have misinterpreted
maybe she talks about that book somewhere else? :-/ ???
in addition trafalgar makes an interesting point about people that use the site that perhaps dont have english as their first language. if you take the thought a stage further, bear in mind that by using incorrect spelling or grammar or punctuation you can change the meaning of intent making it more difficult to get your point across.
I actually think its hilarious when people point out mistakes or try to define things too clearly, cos usually they make a mistake themselves whilst doing it(i invariably do, there are many tales of my legendary typos)
let he who is without sin and all that ...Blah0 -

Anyway now she has gone...........back on thread 8)
I have seen people post and others pick them up on it because it hasn't got a question mark after a question.
Does it matter.................it's better to spend the braincells answering the question if you can rather than being pernickerty and belittling the poster :-/

I agree that you do not need to have perfect grammar to post. However, I do find some long posts impossible to understand through incorrect grammar. It is also annoying when someone continually use words like "and I sayed" throughout a post. If english is not their first language perhaps they could type out long posts in Word and spell check before cutting and pasting.
Punctuation - who care??????????? The odd full stop is good and never start a sentence with And.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
