Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

I agree that you do not need to have perfect grammar to post.  However, I do find some long posts impossible to understand through incorrect grammar.  It is also annoying when someone continually use words like "and I sayed" throughout a post.  If english is not their first language perhaps they could type out long posts in Word and spell check before cutting and pasting.

Punctuation - who care??????????? The odd full stop is good and never start a sentence with And.

You see there you go incorrect grammar ???

Why should they go to Word and do all that. ???

Its a chat forum so who cares as long as it is READABLE.

And I couldn't give a toss what the english teacher said. :P

yeah Q thats why i queried if that is what pat was talking about - cos actually the reference to the book was made for the poster of the comment I quoted to have a read and have a chuckle at.  cos the poster was talking about how sky tv didnt get their grammar correct in their response to the customer. but pat says thats not what shes talking about so I must have misinterpreted :)  maybe she talks about that book somewhere else?  :-/  ???

in addition trafalgar makes an interesting point about people that use the site that perhaps dont have english as their first language.  if you take the thought a stage further, bear in mind that by using incorrect spelling or grammar or punctuation you can change the meaning of intent making it more difficult to get your point across.

I actually think its hilarious when people point out mistakes or try to define things too clearly, cos usually they make a mistake themselves whilst doing it :) (i invariably do, there are many tales of my legendary typos)

let he who is without sin and all that ...

As I answered you before Vanoonoo it had nothing to do with the quote you presented I said NO and I meant NO.

Who is SHE you refer to ???

I have seen this book quoted many times on this site. ::)

As for the Grammar sticklers on this site they are going to have to lump it.

Again its only a chat forum, were not sitting for our GCE's.

    You'll get over it. ;)
