Pipeline Card [Merged Threads]

Fair enough the site has to cover costs but I'd like to see a bit more transparency. The latest email says they're now in talks with a new supplier. Did the other supplier ("ready to launch April or May") pull out?
A bit more info please, Pipeline!0 -

or are you not comparing like with like ?
I may well not be comparing like with like, but for 30 secs of looking, no haggleing over the phone, no price promise etc etc I was, and will remain disapointed.
I feel we were promised a fuel card once a certain number of people signed up. This has been achieved
They are now talking to someone else, what happened to the first (or is it second/third/fourth) party?
If I spent 30 mins, and not 30 seconds I would expect to at least match it. But maybe I am wrong.
But you are missing my point, and my point has been understood by some and agreed with.0 -
tin wrote:BTW the email pipeline sent is full of apologies about them sending this offer, saying it's only this one because it's too good to miss, they won't make a habit of it, sorry if it's not for you, etc.
However, their Terms and Conditions state:By registering on the Pipeline website, you agree to receive any messages that are sent to you in relation to fuel discounts and other Pipeline activities.
The Privacy Policy says:
andYour information will only be disclosed to third parties where we are obliged or permitted by law. Specifically it will not be sold or passed on to marketers. We will not spam you - we will not enable others to spam you.
I'm not sure how informing people that nothing has been achieved but adding on an "offer" achieves the spirit implied by the Terms and Privacy Policy.
Unless the sale of GPS equipment is a Pipeline activity it would seem at odds with that Term. Likewise, it may not have been "passed on to marketers", instead the marketing is being done directly by Pipeline.
"We will not spam you" seems unequivocal - however, how do you define "spam" - unsolicited? unwanted? irrelevant? inappropriate? To me that email qualifies as spam - i didn't sign up to receive any information about GPS equipment - and thus it was "unsolicited" in that respect, it was definitely "unwanted", it's pretty much irrelevant to getting a discount on fuel, and the entire email was "inappropriate" as it didn't actually have anything to do with, what i was led to believe, was the whole purpose of Pipeline.
I hope i'm wrong but i suspect the Pipeline card won't amount to much, and we'll see more of these "exceptional" offers - tyres, breakdown cover, car insurance, repairs, etc, etc.0 -
Pipeline is turning into a pile of pants. Forget the cheap SatNav, what about the original aim?
And where does Ben's slice of the SatNav sale go?
Be honest with us, if you cannot deliver what you set out to then close it down.0 -

That's like saying ASDA's special offer for oranges at 90p a kilo isn't very good because Sainsburys are selling apples at just 95p a kilo.
The European Maps included are worth £90 and free P&P saves another £14.95, so rather than just being £10 better than your 30 second Google, you could be saving upto £115 !There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

For the whiners and moaners here there is a very very simple solution: Send a blank email to unsubscribe@PipelineCard.org
It hasn't cost me anything to register, it doesn't cost me anything to stay registered and at some point in the future I might actually save some money. In the meantime it takes me 10 seconds to scan incoming emails and decide if they go into the wastebasket, so I'm staying subscribed for now.

"You can resign as a member at any time by sending a blank email to unsubscribe@PipelineCard.org. Best wishes Ben Scammell - Pipeline Card Founder"
Simple, if you are not happy then do the above.
Yes, Pipeline has been going on for a long time and yet to have any affect. But then when has something like this been attempted in the past? Ok, so they may have initially thought it was going to be easier to setup and it looks like they have realised it isn't. I for one am happy that they send emails, this way I know that they are still out there and not disappeared into the sunset. And secondly I have not received any junk mail from any other companies so therefore they have upheld their agreement.
So Sat-Nav isn't what you signed up for, but that information was added into the mail about the fuel card. If he was to simply leave a line saying, 'if you are interested in finding out about another motoring saving we have researched, please request it by emailing us'; are you saying you would not be intrigued?
To re-iterate, if people are not happy then simply follow Pipelines request of unsubscribing.

I shouldn't have to - i should be able to rely upon the Terms and Privacy policy.
marmaladecarclub.co.ukBut then when has something like this been attempted in the past?
The "info" about the "fuel card" was merely to say absolutely nothing has happened. So Sat-Nav isn't what you signed up for, but that information was added into the mail about the fuel card.
I wouldn't complain so much if it had merely been a quick comment on a saving on GPS equipment and a link - but it was a long and rambling explanation. If he was to simply leave a line saying, 'if you are interested in finding out about another motoring saving we have researched, please request it by emailing us'; are you saying you would not be intrigued?0 -
And if they never sent out an email people would be here moaning that they don't keep you up to date. This bloke is trying to help everyone out just give him time. At the moment it just sounds like everyone here has nothing better to do than moan about anything.
