Hi Karen66
I can confirm that the number is one of Vodafone’s outbound sales teams trying to contact you. These calls should certainly not be silent calls, so I thank you for bringing this to our attention.
If you would like us to update your marketing preferences so that you do not receive any further calls or communication from Vodafone, please e-mail us via our Contact Us page, using WRT135 as the subject, and we’ll advise when this is updated for you.
These calls are completely unrelated to any spam text messages that you may be receiving from third parties. We are very keen to understand where these text messages come from and how they impact our customers.
You can find out more information on our Help Centre about reporting spam messages, and how to stop them.
Many Thanks
Simon

I am the official company representative of Vodafone. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Received this message too on the 7th - arrived whilst I was on holiday so only just checking it out now.
Number was +44 7591 268835
"FREEMSG: Our records indicate you may be entitled to 2950 pounds for your Accident. To claim for free reply with YES to this msg. To opt out text STOP"
I'm also on Vodafone although number originally on O2.0 -
Hi jem16,
I know it can be frustrating receiving messages like this – I received the same text message a couple of months ago myself.
There was no charge for the text so don’t worry about that. The best thing to do is to forward this text to VSPAM as suggested in the link provided above by Lee as we will be able to look into this further.
Kind regards,
Jenny

I have been getting these texts for a while now, even regsitered with TPS... I found recently you can send free texts online so spammed them right back by sending them a text saying CLAIM on a free website - free to send but costs the receiver £5 if they want to read the message...I wonder if they will pay to read the message!0

Hmm.. just switched from O2 (who I've been with for years and never received unsolicited texts or phone calls) and within a 3 weeks of being with Vodafone I get this message. Coincidence?
The number was: +447864350264 (07864350264)0 -
Just as I was reading this thread, wouldn't you know it, a text arrived saying I'm due £3650! Phone number is +44 7541 730855.
I'm on T-Mobile, so I'm going to see if they're able to block it.
ETA: I've just spoken with T-Mobile and they can block this number, but I'll need two more instances before they can escalate it to their nuisance calls team. I also checked with TPS and my number is still registered with them.Crazed Norwegian FangirlMH at Indigo2 13 May 2012 and Shepherd's Bush Empire 16 May 2014

At the end of the day you got a text on your phone, it didn't cost you anything, next time erase text and get on with your life
Frankly that is not helpful. People are feeling harrassed and they have every right to do what they can to prevent these scumbag companies from interrupting their lives with unwanted texts, possibly at inopportune moments. Telling people to 'get a life' is in its own way a form of bullying.0 -
After a spate of these claim messages I texted back claim, I have unlimited texts so it was free, I got a call (their cost) and I told the chap I wanted to claim because I was walking along and received a text saying I was entitled to some money and was so excitied that I fell over . It took him sometime to cotton on but eventually he asked if I was wasting their time we discussed the rights and wrongs of this and after he asked me if I would keep doing this he offered to take me off the list, never had another text.0

I've just had this text from +447773070063 (07773070063). Have forwarded it onto 02 spam (7726). Have been with 02 for 10 years & this is the first time I've ever had a spam text.
ETA - The text told me that I was due £3750 for my 'accident'!0
