Even though I opted to pay in Euros, it came through as Pounds!!! Did'nt change my billing address though, so thats maybe why. Anyway called them and asked why I could not have it for the 279 Euros as advertised and was told that price is for countries who use euros!! Pointed out that we were in Europe so should apply to us also, but she was not having it. She then tried to manually put the order through so I could pay in Euros but that failed. Told her to forget it and would leave it as it was, but a communication breakdown between us meant that upon checking later she had cancelled my order!! I phoned back and spoke to a couple of people and eventually ended up at a manager. I told him that I had a screenshot of the 279 euro price and he asked me to email it to him and he would see what he could do!! I asked if someone had messed up but he was keeping stum!!! Not the best telephone manner either for a customer services manager!!!! Will let you know how I get on later but do not hold out much hope!!

Yep that would screw it up for everyone!!!!!!

    mine has been despatched today.
  • Hi All

I had a dispatch e-mail this morning and a DHL tracking number as I requested priority delivery. Expect delivery tomorrow.

Navman recommend www.pocketgpsworld.comto download speed camera data but it currently costs £2/month to subscribe.

Navman CS told me that they are hoping to strike a free deal for customers in the near future!

The only slight downside with this unit is that the TeleAtlas maps are a bit out of date. The 530 comes with 2005.1 mapping which was released early last year. Current tomtoms come with newer 2005.2 maps and TeleAtlas have released 2006.1 and are currently beta testing 2006.2

Navman told me that this unit had been planned for last year but was delayed due to "software bugs" which are supposedly resolved although there is a software update for the 530 on their website already.

    Cheers

    Chris

I also bought this unit through the Pipeline link, last Friday, received it yesterday, rang Navman today and was refunded £30 without any problem, very good customer services, I have a Navman Icn 610 and my first impressions are the 530 is a big improvement. has a full 8 digit postcode finder, the screen is very easy to see even in bright sunlight, it comes with a remote control so you dont have to have finger prints all over your screen, 3d mapping as well as 2d, it locks onto a signal within 10-20 secs even indoors! I have tried a lot of the sat/nav systems currently available and IMO it is one of the best 9/10

Tony, If you noticed I already posted that the price had changed from to 279 to 309 Euros before I called them about mine not going through correctly, so they had obviously already realised their mistake. I have not messed it up for anyone thanks.

I received mine today. Thanks Tony.

Not a good start, my postode is wrong:rolleyes:, it insists in giving distances in feet rather than yards (cannot be changed) and when entering postcodes it does not give an option to enter the house number. The map views are not as good as TomTom either.

I hope it grows on me.

It has not grown on me. It took ages to lock onto any satellites and the accuracy is not that good, my TomTom tells me I am home as I pull onto my drive the Navman while I am still down the road. The 3D map view shows the whole area rather than the drivers eye view of TomTom and if you zoom in it reverts to the area within a few seconds. Yuk.

I am very disappointed with it and have requested a returns number.
