Amazing price for such a new model retailing at around £300ish everywhere else. I paid £150 for the 520 a few months ago and that was a bargain! For £35 more for the new model with full 7 digit postcode lookup etc I know what I would now choose if I had the choice.

A 'nearly new' Navman 520 went for £147 on ebay yesterday.

Likewise - but last week I sold my 520 which I bought under that offer on e-bay for £172 - fees = 155 ish - made 5quid profit after a couple months use. Not bad! Stated the bidding at £4.99. Then went and upgraded to this model. Paid in pounds though so no luck when it comes to getting it for £188. Still good price though!

I chose euros and put in a billing country of Denmark (UK delivery address) and it's showing 279 euros which @1.33 is £209 (same as sterling price)??

Have they fixed the loophole now or am I doing something wrong??

I am putting in my uk postcode in the billing address and when I go back to dedit it's showing UK as the country so it must know I'm trying to scam it? What's everyone else put in whose got the cheaper price?
  • Hi Wifty

If you then confirm your billing/delivery address, the next page gives you three dropdown prices in pounds, euros & dollars.

The pounds is £184.57 as stated above.

I just ordered with express delivery and the price has been confirmed at: £189.83.

One thing I did notice afterwards in the Navman shop is this:

"The Largest memory card to be used with the iCN 530 is 512mb"

Now this in itself is not a big problem, but can anyone shed light on whether or not this is true as I think this would mean that more than one card would be necessary to hold the whole of Europe?

Does this mean that Europe would not be 'seamless'?

    Regards

    Chris

Hmm guess this isn't for me anyway seeing as I can't install maps on a mac. Don't really understand why as it's simply a case of copying the files onto an SD card, maybe some kind of 'clever' copy protection system or something but whatever it is it's going to rule the system out for me.

£99 seems a bit steep for map updates as well - they don't appear to sell just the UK maps as far as I can tell?

If you click "Confirm order and proceed" does this bind you to the purchase? I might do this and send the other back when it arrives! Save me a bit more money... but wanted to check first before I proceed...

BTW - The extra savings is the VAT... so effectively you aren't paaying the VAT by the looks of it.

Isn't the avoidance of VAT a criminal offence?

Yes, but if you have to go 'on the run' at least you won't get lost...
