Hello
I'm very interested in this offer especially as it has now dropped another £30.
On paper, there is nothing to touch it for value, but can anyone let me know if it is lacking in anything important with regard to performance/features before I make a decision.
I am not too bothered with the lack of included Traffic Info, but I would like to use it in Europe, so I guess another SD card will be required to transfer the maps from the DVD/CD.
Is their choice of mapping providers good?
One feature I would like, is the ability to enter a new temporary 'base' location when on holiday/touring and then use the system to help return me to that 'stored base' at the end of the day. Is this a standard feature on most SatNavs?
BTW, it says on the Navman website that full European mapping is supplied on a CD at no extra cost apart from the required SD card if you want to use them.
Also, I think it is possible to buy online in Euros, and even taking into account the standard Credit/Debit card conversion costs, it should still come in at under £200 delivered.
Cheers

The maps are great they use TeleAtlas the same as TomTom a few years ago Navman used Navtech but they switched, Navtech & TeleAtlas are both top mapping companies.celticprince wrote:Hello

You have an option to add "favorites", these are places you visit regularly so when your in Europe just set your location to one of your favorites and you can sellect it from the list and return there when you want..0 -
Just ordered mine direct from Navman gone through ok at the moment dispatch has been approved but no delivery date yet. Thanks for the post Tony.0

Oh well... may get another one and send the other back! Its been dispatched...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Just ordered mine in Euros, but noticed when I came to pay it billed me in Pounds. It did give you a choice if you wanted to pay in Euros, GBP or Dollars, but the the price there was Euro 315.something which comes out at £215.something. Phone call will be made in the morning!!!!I say what I like, I like what I say!0

Basically they're using a very poor rate of exchange - 1.33 Euros to the pound - it's NEVER reached that low as far as I know - another example of Rip-off Britain.0 -
if you select to have the billing address in a euro country, then have it shipped to a british address
that should get you your saving.
edit - I also don't think visa check the country for payment, as I have done something similar with Lufthansa Before.0 -
if you do my little scam which hopefuilly will work,
You get billed only
£184.57!!!!0 -
I have just placed an order with my billing address specified as a european country, total charged to my credit card is 189.83, this is including express delivery (which I needed) otherwise it is possible to get it cheap.0

Amazing price for such a new model retailing at around £300ish everywhere else. I paid £150 for the 520 a few months ago and that was a bargain! For £35 more for the new model with full 7 digit postcode lookup etc I know what I would now choose if I had the choice.:rolleyes:khizman wrote:if you do my little scam which hopefuilly will work,
