How long does it take to fully charge via USB? - Mine was on for about 10 hours and only reached 85% full. I used it until the battery ran out and it has now been on charge for 9 hours, but the light is still amber. Finally it's gone GREEN five minutes after orginally posting this

I too find the volume low, but can't use the higher settings because the speaker rattles - might be 'cos it was packed in a large box with a scunched up piece of paper at the top for padding !

Also with the 2D view I cannot get the map to display in the direction I'm going - the only way I can do this is with the "I can see the sea" 3d map, which personally I don't like.

It also has misrouted me several times in a single test journey ???

My first impressions are not good - the Garmin i3 beats this hands down - shame I couldn't get euro maps.

I still have the same view on the 530 albeit with one problem; the volume of the voice-commands which I feel are not loud enough even at full volume

I find it very loud! I've turned the volume down (from about 2/3) in fact.

It's quite rude because it interrupts the conversation!

    Same here.

Well impressed with the 530 which doesn't even have problems with my heated front windscreen.

I would advise some caution as deals like the one below frequently crop up and are 100% scams. Look at the sellers feedback; it is all from other 'member sellers' with no history themselves who all signed up within a day of each other, and the price is just too good!

    Just be careful

Off to Malorca in a couple of weeks so I am keen to have all of the maps loaded. So I've installed all Western European onto SD. However, When I try and look for Malorca under Espana, it's not there. It just lists places 1 - 99. But does this mean that when I arrive in Spain it will pick up a signal and away you go ?
You see I was hoping to do a few planned route planners first.

    Any Ideas....................

    Cheers

Hi - I havent opened my cds yet - but I think the 99 items shown is something to do with POI's have you tried putting Mallorca in as the place? Just out of interest what size card did you use?

Has anyone managed to get the 2d map pointing in the right direction - Ie the direction your going pointing at the top as I prefer this view.

There appears to be a very wide range of opinions on this unit. Volume is very loud (I agree) - Volume is not loud enough. Locks onto satellites quickly - slow to lock onto satellites(mine). Works fine - several misroutes. 3D map view great - 3D map view not very good (I agree. It covers too wide an area not "drivers eye view").

No one else has reported an incorrect Post Code or commented on not being able to input the house number in addition to Post Code or the inaccuracy in positioning (30 yards in my unit). Also, as in my previous post, distances in the UK are signposted in miles or yards but for some strange reason Navman use miles and feet with no option to change to yards.

It looks like quality control is lacking given the wide variation in opinions.

Mine went back Friday for refund.

    Italiastar,

I took Chris's advice via Navman9See earlier post on p6 by celtic prince) and used a 1gb card, I did'nt put everything on, just missed out the Scandinavian countries. Everything whent on OK, in fact too easy !!

I have tried typing in Mallorca alone but nothing, more than likely something glaringly obvious that I'm failing to do, I'll give the Navman boys another shout !!

You've confirmed my thoughts. Volume on mine is poor - minimal diffrence between mid and full volume - interestingly the rattle at anything above mid volume has dissapeared - Maybe it was louder on Friday when I first tried it. When I was in Halfords last week I mentioned that I had a Garmin i3 - the assistant mentioned how quiet it was - when I listened to it on full volume it was quieter than mine on low - so quality control also seem to affect others. For the record, the Garmin has settings numbered 1 to 5 - I never use it above 3 - on % it would be VERY LOUD!

I cannot work out how to add number to the post code search - possibly an RTFM error - can anyone please help ?

When coming off the A3 yesterday it told me to turn right when I thought I should have gone left - sure enough, after turning right it told me to make a u-turn. It also told me to take the first turning off a roundabout , which was a car park, instead of the second (straight ahead) and lastly told me to take the fourth turning off another roundabout instead of the third - the forth would have taken me back down the way I came - incorrectly as I was going home.

Satellite lock on mine is excellent - down to seconds - I must admit, I've not counted, but certainly nothing noticable - that's even after switching on following being shutdown about 20 miles away. Accuracy is suspect - I live at number 84 - in my front room it reads anything from 103 to 97 and in my bedroom it reads 82 - the middle of my 100ft garden is no 84 ???? Reception Very good too - as I said, it works indoors and the heated screen in my Alhambra poses no problem to it.

I think mine may be finding it's way back to Navman too Assuming it can find it's way home. :)

To answer your question to get the 3d map going up the screen when you have no route programmed in you press the button that looks like a pile of books, this also toggles the display between 2d and 3d when you have a route planned in.in answer to your comment about it telling you to turn off at the roundabout the unit was actually right, the 1st turn off was into a car park the unit wont recognise this as a road therefore the straigh over would be the first turn off, as I stated before I use satnav alot so far its been dead on with destinations entered by postcode, all the different satnav systems have there own quirks, I have tried them all Garmin, Tomtom, Sony and the rest, and personally apart from the volume which I agree is a little low thias is the best I`ve used so far
