T1 RDS Traffic Module for iCN 530, iCN 720 and iCN 750
FREE Traffic Updates. No subscription fee. No download costs.
Make sure you know where the latest traffic hold-ups are with the Navman T1 Traffic Module for your iCN 530, iCN 720 or iCN 750. No extra costs, no subscriptions, just the latest updates direct to your Navman.
How does it work?
The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) broadcasts real-time traffic and weather information via the FM Radio Data System (RDS). FM radio stations transmit traffic information updates on a regular cycle, particularly around rush hours, with up to hundreds of events broadcasted to TMC receivers. Your T1 will decode these events and send them to your iCN, which will then display the various events and give you options on how to avoid traffic congestion.
Where does it work?
The T1 traffic module works on most major roads in the UK, France and Germany. Other countries to follow in the near future.

Hello All
I still have the same view on the 530 albeit with one problem; the volume of the voice-commands which I feel are not loud enough even at full volume.
I am using the UK male voice.
I live rurally and drive a diesel Fourtrack which is not the quietest, but not awful. I was unable to make out a lot of the commands which for me is a big part of a satnav.
Does anyone with experience of other units feel that this model is quiet?
Could it be possible to download louder voices from the net as I dont really want to use an earphone, or wire into my stereo.
Any advice would be much appreciated as I do not want to return the unit unless really necessary
Cheers

I`ve noticed it too, it`s definetley quieter than my Navman 610, the speed camera warnings are also quieter, after visiting various forums I can tell you that there are no ways at the moment to either change the voice or make it louder, the cheapest way to make it louder is to buy one of those handsfree kits that they sell at petrol stations for around a fiver, they have a amplified speaker which by using a plastic clip you can place over the Navmans speaker
you will probably have to buy a double cigarette lighter socket as well0 -
Also the Navman 530 has a headphone socket so you could use one of those fm transmitters that you plug your Ipod into and listen to it over the radio, so you should be able to do the same with the Navman then you could have it as loud as you like through your cars speakers.
Something like this
but cheaper on Ebay0 -

Could someone tell me the pitfalls of buying a TOMTOM from ebay - I have seen one for 210 dollars a 910 and it looks good but would I pay duty or any other charges to bring it into uk.Thanks
I have used ebay for UK items but never abroad.0 -

Thanks for the reply showman36. I will look into that suggestion which is interesting.
I changed the voice to 'UK Female' today which is a little louder, but still almost inaudible on the Motorway/
fast A Roads.
With windows down....absolutely no chance!
I will have to ring Navman and see if they can offer a solution, but I suppose the volume is ultimately limited by the power handling of the internal speaker, unless I go for an external solution.
It's a shame as I was really looking forward to having an almost wireless Satnav!!
I will update as I go
Cheers

Thanks for the reply Paul but UK road maps USA and Europe are included on TOMTOM 910 so just wondered if anyone else has been brave enough to try buying this way.0

Hi michellemybelle
On paper if this is an honest deal it would be very good.
However, you would have to pay inport duty and VAT.
Also, you could be looking at a lot for delivery.
If you can find out all the costs, it may still be worth it as long as it is legit.
I bought a couple of watches a few years ago from the USA and even with all the taxes/carriage I saved several hundred quid, so it can be done with the right goods.
I would advise some caution as deals like the one below frequently crop up and are 100% scams. Look at the sellers feedback; it is all from other 'member sellers' with no history themselves who all signed up within a day of each other, and the price is just too good!

Just be careful
