Hi everyone, thank you for your kind words and understanding. I have no updates to give - the papers are still with HR for processing and goodness only knows how long they will take. Husband now refuses to ring them because he feels he will be 'bugging' them and he doesn't want to antagonise them. Logically, I know that's probably sensible but I'm really reaching the end of my tether emotionally. Nothing he can do is right and we seem to be fighting over tiny, unimportant things.
I know it's just stress and he can't understand that because he is one of those people who can just say 'well if I can't do anything about it there's no point worrying' - and then not worry about it! Whereas I can't help worrying even if I know it's pointless and seeing him so blase makes me feel even more tense.
Does anyone know of any home remedies or natural supplements I can take to calm me down please?Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Bach's Rescue Remedy is supposed to be calming but I've never used it myself. Sounds like you might need to get some extra exercise to get rid of all that nervous energy, perhaps somewhere in private with your husband. Hehe0

It seems totally unfair that a couple like yourself could be asked to leave whilst many British people (not even taking immigrants into account) really could do with being bussed somewhere else! Your english is absolutely faultless, which is rare to find from locals let alone those born elsewhere!
Many immigrants are vital to varying parts of the economy/workforce and it would be terrible to lose two more just on a paperwork issue.
Best of luck.0 -
Hi mouche.
Just found this thread and wanted to wish you all the best with your endeavours and I hope you get your situation on a more even keel soon.
All the best

Hi, mouche. I'm sure there is a flaw in what I'm about to suggest, or someone would have already done so.
The previous HR may not have notified Home Office yet, which appears to help you. Could Husband therefore explain his predicament to them. They may delay the notification by another week.
Stress, Boots have brought out a new tablet called Equilbrium, trialled for ten years and made from milk protein. Money back if it doesn't work. One tab per day.
Sorry, can't get the link from Boots site to work. http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Feel-the-Difference-Equilibrium-One-A-Day-7-Capsules_999017/ Oh, there we go.
I have heard good things about Bach's Rescue Remedy put a few drops on the tongue, there is alcohol in it but a negligible amount.
I too read the Mail Online and don't believe at all that they are aiming at people like you and your Husband. Nor the many hard workers who do work, that we Brits feel is either too lowly or to hard. If the Eastern Europeans weren't collecting our Veg from the fields, there could well be a shortage. I watched the news where the locals drawing dole, said no way would they do it.
Well I hope all goes well for you both and welcome to Old blighty.0 -
No advice to give I'm afraid - just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your stress - you are the sort of people the government should be trying to persuade to stay! It makes no sense at all. I feel a bit ashamed. Just wanted to say good luck Mouche. If it doesn't get sorted out, I have a feeling that you and your husband are the sort of people who could make a good life anywhere.0

mouche I've read your thread and want to wish you all the best what ever the outcome.
You mention that your husband does not want to bug anyone, well I work in property law and he (the client) who shouts loudest gets dealt with first! Maybe a few phone calls chasing this up wouldn't hurt? Good luck x x0
