Site here for finding out about your MP

Alternatively, if you ring your local library they should be able to tell you when your MP is holding their next surgery in the area and you can go along and speak to them in person.
Good luck - but I am sure your husbands new employers will sort things out.0 -
I don't know if this is any help at all, but I was once in a vaguely similar position, in that I had a job waiting, but needed some paperwork which took an age to come through. It wasn't a visa though, just admin stuff, but rather than lose the job I offered to start unofficially and unpaid until the papers come through.
It was going to go on the books as a trial or work experience, in the end it never happened because my docs came through in time. But perhaps your OH could offer to do something similar, even if they don't take him up on it, it shows willing, and might make them more inclined to wait for him.
Good Luck!0 -
(From a European mongrel with a British passport), I wish you only the very best of luck Mouche - both you and your husband deserve it. And may I suggest not paying any attention whatsoever to the Daily Mail? I personally despise what that publication churns out, and despite their ridiculousness, even some of the older generation of my family reads it (why I do not know). My very best wishes and I hope it all works out for you both xdon't let the b*stards get you down or you might have to live in a bin - <<< this could be you!0

Thanks for all your support - no real updates but yesterday the new employer gave my husband a list of documents he needs to provide before they can issue the certitifcate of sponsorship.
Husband has got all the docs together and will go the local office to get them checked by HR. The process is for local HR to send the docs to head office HR who will issue the certificate. Husband is going to volunteer to take them to head office himself so as to save on time in the post. Lets hope they agree. Thanks to whoever suggested that (am typing this from work so can't really go back and check!)
Husband has also taken mogadon's advice and offered to work unofficially while his visa is being processed. He can't do many things but he can do planning and strategy type things which don't actually involve him being hands on (as this would legally be a bit iffy). Hiring manager seemed impressed by his offer so hopefully it's gained him brownie points.
thorsoak, I'm so sorry about your friend - surely she wasn't kicked out after her husband was killed - the immigration officials must be absolutely heartless. It's helped put things in perspective for me though - at least husband and I have each other. Hope your daughter and grandchildren don't have any problems of this nature ever.
I broke down yesterday and had a little cry and a fight with my husband because of all the stress. I've tried to be strong for him but bottling it up meant it all came gushing out. We've made up now and I feel a bit better really after letting it out - and also because of the wonderful responses here - thank you so much!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

I dearly hope your husband gets his sponsorship papers sorted asaflippingp and I'm truly sorry that all the stress has caused unhappiness between you and your husband. We need more people like you settling here rather than some of the "other" useless types flooding in and I wish you both all the best0

I am truly sorry for the way you and poor husband have been treated by the immigration system..
Can't really offer any advice to you unfortunately. But i wanted to just show my support for the both of you, and really hope everything works out x0 -
wow, i must say the papers are very biased and only report on the free loaders, they never report on decent hardworking people, such as yourselves, who are trying to make a life for themselves.
Sincerley wish you good luck!!0 -
Your story saddened me. I only wish I could think of any advice that could be useful. Good luck to you both.0

Can't really offer any advice other than that already offered but really wish you and your husband the best of luck. Just hope things are processed quickly so that your stress levels are reduced.0

The company will have a person in HR dedicated to Tier 2 (which I'm assuming your husband comes under). I would contact them and explain the very tight time scale, they should then be able to expedite the certificate of sponsorship. Having had the pleasure (!) of administering Tier 4 (students) in a large University this Summer I know that the new points based system has caused nothing but pain to those people coming into, or trying to stay, in the country legally.
I do hope that everything turns out ok.0
