I'm off work sick today & probably for the next few days as well. Never thought I'd be glad to be sick, not only does it mean I can't spend any money, but I get some time off work, keep spending days off & holidays working to earn extra money.Total debt £13318  paid £5660 Left to pay £7658 57%

I'm off sick too
Would be in trouble at work because I've been off ill once or twice a month for the past 6 months and my boss was starting to think I was faking but I went to docs today and they're sending me for tests for thyroid and diabeties
Am terrified that the tests might come out positive. On the bright side when I called my boss to tell him it was rather obviouse how scared I am so atleast he doesn't seem to think I'm faking anymore.

Vitamin C suppliment on the menu for some of us then.
Hope you all feel better and I hope it's not that serious for you Amatheya.
Three weeks today I stopped smoking. :j Apparently I have saved over £30 :money:so would have been deeper in my OD than I otherwise am. I have put on a stone in weight. Yesterday morning first thing was 10"5' after went to toilet!! :rotfl:My target is 11 stone and I will look normal instead of starved and ill all the time.
The wife starts the new job today after a terrible shift yesterday. There was some road rage in the petrol station where she works and someone ended up getting bottled. It was quite messy. She is worried that the guys are going to go back in and hassle her. I have some former rugby tream mates on stand by ready for the call!
I am now in a period debt paying limbo this month as all my payments go at the in either the first or the last week of the month bar a couple of minors so the name of the game at the moment is to try and keep my OD as low as possible fo rthe next few weeks. It is currently at £55.
The car is due its MOT tomorrow, eeekkk. Well it's not actually due until the 04th March but want to get it in and see what the damage is while it still has a valid ticket. I have a seperate "car" account which I have been storing moneys in monthly. I have IRO £500 and that is it. If she flies through then happy days, leftover money will be transferred to ISA for deposit for new car. It's never that simple though. I have checked everthing I can, brakes, tyres, lights fluids etc and it is all good, so if there is anything wrong it is not going to be a simple fix.:oWas in debt £23k- Not now (12/07-12/10):T

Hi all
Shady, that's crap about your wife! I'm in Bury I'll have to see if it's been on the news.
You're so good saving money for the car, we've only just started an emergency fund since my LBM in November. So far there's £110 in it but every little helps!
Shame some people aren't able to carry on with the challenge, but needs must I get. No need to worry about me going anywhere - I'm so determined its ridiculous! Other than my slight over spend from the wedding fund - time to make it up though!!

It wasn't on the news, I checked after work, no-one was killed. We moved to this village for a quite bludy life!!
After struggling to get the money togther to sort the car out last year I was determined not to let it happen again. I know have a number of bank account for various things, the money gets budgeted and divided up into the seperate accounts and that is that.
Yes it is a shame some are dropping out. It is a damn tough challenge and we must admire them for giving it a go. However I wouldn't like people to over stretch themselves and end up not acheiving anything and also stressing over something that may not be all that practical for them.
tlc123 £110 is a lot more than I had a year ago. As well as savings account in my sig there is now a similar buffer in each account, car, bills etc just in case. I had a VERY stingey 2009 in order to build it all up and keep the debt coming dwon at the same time.:money:Was in debt £23k- Not now (12/07-12/10):T

well done you shady!
I really need to sit down and sort out accounts etc. Everything goes in one acount and out one account, hence I end up in a right muddle. But, I get paid monthly and my fiancee gets paid weekly so working it all out is a ruddy nightmare! It'd help if I understood maths!Long Haul Supporter #203:beer:0 -

Hi guys
good news, I didnt lose my job, I am literally, the last (wo)man standing after all the redundancies from last two years i can beleive it. God is looking after me!!!
So, have managed to make a few more payments into savings account to pay off loan... made a paymetn today of £33.79 from Amazon sales which hit account today, and made paymetn for 96p yesterday... think this is going to be it till i get paid on 15th. I do have £5 left in my account, but that may need to go on the Oyster card!
So, off to update sig - bit confused as have made mini-payments but not been on here much due to redudnancy meetings!
Hope everyone's alright and keeping up with the challenge :j
:T:T:T:TI have learnt from my in-debt days....never again!0
