I've got a big update today, but this will probably be the only big payment. As my last car payment has gone out. :j:j:j:T:T:T:beer::beer::beer: plus some other bills. I've had the money for a few weeks but didn't want to add it until the bill had been paid. So my total for today is £4851:eek: & I'm now offically poor until payday again. Think I'm going to do the night shift that is going tonight for extra money.
Total debt £13318  paid £5660 Left to pay £7658 57%

I have made my first payment of February to barclaycard for £149.01, so I am off to update sig.
  • Hi everyone,
I've no totals to update yet, but just had an interesting 'chat' with Halifax when I called to close my cc account. They offered me a great deal (after some haggling of course) 4.94% for life of balance and upped my limit, which means I will be able to transfer here when my other 0% ends. I know its not as good as always keeping on 0%, but the credit card shuffle stresses me out, and you are always taking the transfer fees into account. I estimate that it will take us about 3 years to clear off at that  Have to sympathise with Amatheya81 am feeling that I will never have 'a life' again :( My OH and I both hit the big 40 this year not sure how we will celebrate that on our new budget, the 'fun & frolics' colum is blank :(:(:(:(
    CC 1 Halifax £4350(4.9%)
    CC 2 MBNA £6260 (5.4%)
    CC 3 Barclaycard 8500(0%)
    CC 4 Tesco £2500
    O/D £3000:eek:
  • Blimey Orio it's only Feb and you've nearly paid off half the £10k!!! That's improssive.

Maybe you need to treat yourself Peetzil. 3 years is an awful long time to go without some fun. I've got 3 years (atleast) before I'm debt free as well.

I've just set myself a goal that once I have no debt I can treat myself by buying a 3D TV, they should be more main stream by then (they may have even figured out how to get rid of the glasses, they recon that will happen within 10 years)... I am aware that I'm absolutely hopless though, I still haven't finished paing off my last TV!!! D'oh :s

I'm all booked up for wkend shifts for feb and most of march, so it's nice that I have some guaranteed money coming in for the debt.
  • Can completely sympathise with those who are feeling miserable about their debts. I get that way too sometimes. I am desperately trying to clear everything before I hit the big 30 in June 2012.

To be honest, the only thing that really works for me when I am feeling down about my money is sleeping. (And it's free!) I find I wake up in a better mood and a clearer frame of mind.

As well as feeling miserable I am also going through the "being angry at myself stage". I can't believe I was as stupid as I was when I got into this mess. I swear this is the biggest emotional rollercoaster I have ever been on :rotfl: !!

Well done to everyone, just think where we will all be this time next year!

  • £211.07 loan payment today, so my month has started!

I have decided to include my mortgage in my totals below. It is currently interest only so did not include it, however as I am (hopefully) transferring my card debt to 0% I have worked out via snowball that I will be better off in the long run paying extra off the mortgage instead of the cards.

Also my mortgage rate is very good at the mo, so I may as well do it now and pay off as much as I can before they put the interest rate up.

Congrats on all the totals so far this month!:grouphug:
