Can I just clarify - is the plan to earn an EXTRA 10K or would normal direct debits/payment plans count towards paying the 10K? Sorry if I'm being dense.
!
I am going to include my normal payments.
I wouldn't stand a chance in hell if I didn't

OK, so I think I've caught up on the thread now! :j
It's so nice to be reminded why I used to use MSE forums, it's really motivating to read other peoples stories and hear the enthusiasm for clearing debts and saving up.
Although I can't remember eveyone's names I know there was at least one other Brummie on here which is cool! I am also mid (ahem..late!) 20's though my debts were not from uni - just bad spending habits. I also got married this year and if I remember rightly, there's a wedding soon, so I can hopefully help with some wedding money saving tips.
Plus I gather lots of people are into their slow cookers . . if you PM me your email address I have a slow cooker recipe book I can forward if you want it. Over 400 recipes!
Off now to update sig with debts.

Happy New Year everyone!!
I have no debts so my focus is on saving. I have 2 direct debits out of my current account on the 1st of each month with £100 going to each of two saving accounts (short and long term savings). So I am off now with £200 out of £10,000. woo hoo.
Have some change jars on the go, might raid those and bank each month. Will have a look and update as and when I bank it, also have a little Christmas money which I will save but again I won't add until banked.
Good luck all.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE its great to see that Im not the only person thats sooooo excited about this challenge!
I made my first payment today, but I live in my overdraft at the moment so I will up date my totals at the end of the month, once all the damage has been done:eek:!!!! Its great to see that everyone is off to a good start.
Loumac I bought a slow cooker the other day (although I paid £15 at mr T's and missed the one at Argouuus for almost half the price - doh!) so im going to PM you for the receipe book if thats ok. Its great to have you along and you're not alone in the 25yrs (plus a couple!) brummie stakes, although im a bit more rural now.

Slow cooker recipe book is on it's way to a few people already. Hope it's useful - I bought it as an ebook on ebay ages ago and then didn't quite get round to using it.
They are a good way to save money though so good luck to all.
