Hi All,
Can I join the challenge please? I had already set myself a target to save/earn 10K and it would be great to track progress on here and chat to people trying to reach their targets too. My friends think I'm mad to attempt 10K but I may as well aim high.0 -
I know this challenge isn't supposed to start until tomorrow but I couldn't wait any longer!! I've included the £14.97 I had in my savings account and the £27.78 refund I got today which I have put towards my overdraft plus £4.60 I also put towards the overdraft as I overbudgetted my phone bill so at the moment I'm £47.35 closer to paying off my 10k :rotfl:but as they say every penny counts!!!

Hi,
This thread has really inspired me to up my savings ante for 2010 so have stopped lurking and started posting!
I would like to join the challenge please as I would love to have 7k in savings by the end of 2010 for my half of a house deposit. :j
I currently have £1500 so will be adding to this if that's ok, so technically I'll be saving 5.5k in 2010. My oh is also saving but seperate to me, so I'll only be counting mine- the aim is to have a house by the end of 2010, sooner if possible.
I plan to do this by saving as much of my wages as possible, ebay, MShopping, quidco etc. My savings target is lower than I would like, but I have weddings, hendos and a holiday to look forward to this year, so need to budget for these as well.
Please could you add me to the challenge, and put me down for 5.5k in 2010? :T
thanks!0 -
OMG! Have set up pending payments to go out of my account for tomorrow (couldn't bear to wait any longer
) and I am soooo excited about updating my signature with the payments for tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone!!
Speak to you all soon

I have been lurking for ages but am really inspired by everyone's positivity.
Please can I be added onto this fab challenge. Am aiming for the whole £10k, not sure how I'm going to do it, but will have a very MS try. If OK will add what I have already saved, only about £665 but its a start. Only another £9,9335 to go:mad:!!
Am a keen thrifty grocery shopper, and save by making lots of homemade food from scratch. Also, use Quidco and Topcashback and AMEX for cashback. Hmmm, what else?...... Have even limited tumble dryer use to a minimum - still line drying some washing in this cold weather! Little one is in cloth nappies, so that saves, and will be potty trained in spring (I hope). Use car v. little and try to walk most places. Heating is turned down low.
Have listed some books and CDs on Amazon to sell. But have a large bundle of baby things to upload onto ebay. Tried Mumsnet but didn't have any luck.
Any other ideas for family of 5 + cat & dog very welcome.Jan GC £267.47/280, Fuel:£40.60/£40; Cafes: £28.35!!/£20, NSD: ?/20

It's going to be hard as I also intend to lose another 2 stone on 2010 so I can't eat all the rubbishy cheap food that's full of fat.
There is a really good thread on here about an amazing woman who managed to live off 50p a day (food) for her, her husband and her son!!
I have had a look for you but can't find it. Maybe someone else on here will know what i'm on about and point you in the rite direction.
