  • Hi,
Not had a good start today. Came downstairs this morning to three piles of dog sick on the livingroom carpet, after my beagle has stole a packet of Haribos and scoffed the lot! Still being in moneysaving mode, I cleaned it with bio washing powder, and sprinkled with bicarb of soda, and its looking good as new. Don't know about my dog though, last xmas he scoffed a six pack of DH favourite Walnut Whips and had the cheek to leave the walnuts (at least he wasn't sick that time!)
    CC 1 Halifax £4350(4.9%)
    CC 2 MBNA £6260 (5.4%)
    CC 3 Barclaycard 8500(0%)
    CC 4 Tesco £2500
    O/D £3000:eek:

what a nightmare Peetzil! and how could he leave the walnuts, in my opinion they are the best part of a walnut whip! and i must admit i love haribo so your dog sounds like good eating company to me hehehe :-) but bad news about the sick - good news about the MSE ways of cleaning it up!

Kipkip - know the one about the dog VERY well. My Westie devoured the rubbish bag the other day and I am not going to say anymore apart from the fact that they should really make Doggy nappies!!!!

  • Hi there, I'd like to join please :j

I've been lurking a while thinking that I'd play along without joining up, but I have decided that in order to be successful I need peeps like you to kick me in the behind!

Is it cheating terribly to use the £400 I have stashed towards my total?

Anyway, good luck all and a great 2010 to you! xxx

    Welciome Kate Pixie!

All the 10 in 10'ers are getting excited about the forthcoming challenge!

I'm not sure if £400 extra is cheating :rotfl: but £400 is better that minus £400!

Welcome everyone thats joined today! We are a mad bunch but good support for each other!

Speaking of dogs, I have two staffordshire bull terriers (no they're not vicious beasts that eat children before you ask!) but one's a rescue and she's not toilet trained at 3 years old. I come home to a present or two every day! My other one likes to eat tennis balls..whole. He's cost me a fortune this year and is longer allowed off the lead as he can't be trusted near balls. He ate a poopa scoop the other week actually and the vet was not happy with me at all.

Not having dogs would be a great way to save money...but I wouldn't give mine up for the world. As much as we're all in debt, and as much as we really want to take £10k off our debts next year, its times like christmas that we have to remember that it's not all about the money.

Yep it'd make things easier and yep we'd probably have a nicer lifestyle with less stress if we didn't have debts, but I guess we have to remind ourselves that it's not the be all and end all.

WELL, there's my epiphany for 2009!!

Hope its not too late to join. I've fallen off the money saving wagon somewhat recently and need motivation. My debt stands just under 5000 but i would quite like to get to 10k so i have some savings to fall back on.
  • I can totally relate with the dog thing- yesterday my greyhound ate a massive wodge of mouldy cheese that someone had throw away at work... then last night my idiot boyfried gave her a load of char sui fried rice once he was full up... what is wrong with these people?!!

Have just been signed off work for 3 weeks with depression and am expecting to be signed off for a further 6 weeks after that. This is good as it means I can apply for ESA benefits ( for those of you that dont know, I run a not for profit company and don't take any wages, but can't claim any benefits as I work full time) but bad because I can't work constantly (this is perhaps a good thing for my health) and also bad because I don't think I can earn extra on things like clicks and surveys and mystery shops without it affecting my benefit- is that right?

    hmm swings and roundabouts...
