  • Hi Guys,

I’ve just been reading the thread… I’ve recently joined the “turn £100 into £10,000” challenge, but I’d like to follow this challenge too… they are on the same lines and the more support, help and advice that can be shared the better… if I could save £10,000 then my debt would be cleared… that would be amazing. I feel like I have chains hanging over me at the moment… it’s an awful feeling.

I am going to set up a savings account where I have to give 30 days notice to withdraw and any extra I earn / make / am given for Christmas will go in there.

I am going to eBay my heart out… I am moving into my boyfriend’s one bedroom flat in March, so de-cluttering makes sense… I am also going to try and save, budget, look into match betting and maybe take on a second job.

A year ago I went into debt management and I have found 2009 difficult because I have been forced to live within my means… but I bought a smaller car, I sold my gold, I recycled my Cds with Music Magpie, I learnt how to use eBay, I started making Christmas and birthday gifts, I started writing on-line reviews on Dooyoo.co.uk and I learnt to say “no” when I couldn’t afford a night out. I feel like I’ve made progress over the past year… but now it’s time for hard ball.

What ideas do you guys have for making the £10,000 a reality? I only earn £16,000 a year, but I want to make this happen…

    xx
  • P.S- I hope you like my new signature!! xx
  • Well i did have about 3 days of overtime this month that would of been paid in january, but think i may have lost that due to the snow if i have to take the rest of the week off:mad::mad:

on the plus i have £25 waiting from my free scratcheez and have a christening cake to make for a friend so hopefully will have £60 or so extra for jan so far..............

Have £130 left over from my xmas savings so am gonna use some to go and watch my brothers passing out parade (just joined the army) and what ever is left will go on the debts! May fall behind in the first month........................:o
    December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

  • Don't worry rags I'm going to be soooo far behind first month. We got paid early making it a 6 week month so I daren't pay anymore than the minimum otherwise we'll have far too much month left at the end of the money!! Very talented making a christening cake! Fab money spinner!
    20K by Xmas 2010 (10 in 10 challenge - debt):
    Debt: £799.21/£10500
    Savings: £0 / £9500
  • I have a feeling the next few months might be the hardest to get money for this challenge- but I'm confident we will all find a way :)
  • Hello everyone, after reading this thread i feel a little inspired (actually quite a lot) and would like to join

I'm not sure that i can do the £10k but will give it my best shot.

I am a stay at home mum to 1yr and (almost) 3yr old girls whilst my husband is self employed.
I plan to do this by getting a job in April when 3yr old goes to nursery (can't afford 2 lots of nursery fees at the moment and no one wants to look after 2 toddlers)
Do the 2010 £100 clothes challenge
and most importantly stop spending money on rubbish

    Good luck everyone

New signature looks great! I might have to change mine slightly now! It will be really motivating to see the debt going down this year.
    Good luck!

  • Have also had an idea for making some extra cash. I have great recipes for home made tablet, treacle toffee and mars bar cake, and thinking perhaps I could sell it at work. Mars bar cake is particularly easy to make, and likely the most profitable, as ingredients for tablet and toffee are quite expensive. I am happy to share the recipies if anyone else wants to give it a go? ;)
