How are you guys planning on making teh 10k happen? I am starting off with a mass eBay sell off at the beginning of the year... but I am not sure what else I can do... any ideas?

My cunning plan is to also e-bay a LOT of stuff! although with a new born baby I may have to wait until the end February really to do this. I have just joined Dooyoo and so I plan on writting as many reviews as possible. I hope to be back doing the car boot sales in the summer too. I have some broken gold that needs to be rescued from the loft and sent off too... may not get a lot but every little helps! Also whilst OH is in the loft I may get him to get down some books for me to sell on Amazon/e-bay whichever offers the best deal at the time!
My OH and I are trying to get our food shopping budget down but are struggling to be honest. We meal plan and 'stretch' our meals however are still struggling to get below £200 a month for just the two of us. I have just found a thread on here that gives ideas on how to feed a family of four on just £40.00 a month!!! If people can do that then we must be able to get it slightly lower... even if it went down to £160 a month I would be happier!

Hi Lookingtothefuture, I recently bought martins book ' thrifty ways for modern days' and it has lots of great moneysaving tips, including home made products for cleaning, beauty etc, which should help save on the shopping bill. Of course you could save even more and borrow it from your local library! Best of luck :-)CC 1 Halifax £4350(4.9%)CC 2 MBNA £6260 (5.4%)CC 3 Barclaycard 8500(0%)CC 4 Tesco £2500O/D £3000:eek:0

Meh, this is one of my issues... my debt all went straight to a degree and that doesnt have much resale value! If only I had blown it all on handbags... :rotfl:
The truth is I know I could save it by cutting back, without even needing to live like a pauper, but its just putting it into practice! :wall:Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

...Tell me about it! I got into a lot of debt at university too... time to get it sorted now though!
Peetzil39 - I might look into buying Martin's book! Some of the tips I've picked up on this site have saved me a lot of money! ...I just find it so hard to live within a budget, it's like money burns a hole in my pocket!

Hello to all the people that have joined the challenge! I am aiming to sell the contents of my flat. OH job finishes on Christmas Eve so I'm unlikely to make any overpayments until he gets another job so ebay and cutting everything back (I've been very slack on bringing in my own lunches) until he is gainfully employed again.Debt at lightbulb moment (18 Aug 2009) 30933.95,Debt 1 July 2011 £9663.71Debt free date[STRIKE]February 2017[/STRIKE] September 20160

Well, I've made a drastic descision for the new year. I already work a full time job but I'm going to get another job for a few hours a week, I'm not sure what yet... I might try telesales as I've done that before. It's honestly one of the last things I wanted to do but if I can even manage an extra £100 per month I'll have a better chance of making my target.0

Hi all.
Just found this thread and I love it! :happyhear
Please let me join!!!
I don't have a 10k worth of debt as such but in 2010 I should (fingers crossed) be getting a morgage and planning my wedding.
I have just set up a dirrect debit of £500 a month into my mothers account (so i can have it if I REALLY need it but will have to ask her) and aim to make the other £333.33 (which will go towards my debts) by ebaying my soul, using cash back sites and keep up non smoking.
Good luck and hope you all have a fab crimbo :rudolf:
