  • I had loads of snow my end buy by the time i got into London there was not one single flake in central London!

    Getting excited about the 10 in 10 challenge - £833.33 a month!
I have learnt from my in-debt days....never again!
  • Aw, Im jealous! We didnt end up with much snow at all in London. It was so lovely last year when the city ground to a halt and everyone went out to play in the snow instead of working / bustling by without making eye contact! I amazes me how little snow it takes to shut entire slabs of the UK down...

Thinking of the challenge - I had changed the standing order on my bank account to £600 per month. I think this is pretty good, since last year it was about £400 and I certainly didn't have much left at the end of the month. I'll squeeze through by generally being more MSE - essentially better food shopping and less nights out! The question is where that extra £200 odd going to come from? Dum dum dum....

I know i need to make up an additional few quids too!

I plan to sell things on ebay, maybe do a few car boots when the time is right, and not buy myself any clothes or anything, and definately not go mad on birthday/xmas presents next year.

I have stopped doing daily clicks for the last month (BAD I KNOW!!!) buy plan to stick to them religiously from Jan 2010 so hopefully that'll bring a couple of hundred over the year..

I like the sound of Match Betting - but it looks too confusing!

    what else can we do?

oh i think i'll join all the No Spend Day challenges there are!!!

  • :( I got really excited this morning cos the radio alarm said not to make any not-necessary trips due to the snow... then I sat up and looked out the window and there was not a snow flake in sight!
    Stupid Cumbria!!

I also am getting excited about the challenge, I found 5p on the floor yesterday and let out a little whoop... my friend thinks I'm a bit of a wierdo now, but every little helps- as Mr T likes to tell us!

Does anyone know if you have to declare betting winnings in your tax return as earnings?

Afternoon All. Not been online much due to a desk move making my screen very visable to those on high in the office  Luckily today is the day after the Christmas party so there are a lot of people 'working' from home :D

However, I am still looking forward to doing this challenge next year, although I'll be starting with the extra money making when we return from our delayed honeymoon on the 18th. Minimum payments will be made in that time though which I am including in my total. Hope you're all well.

What about saving loose change in a change jar or similar.

Do you use money off coupons, if so when you use one and save 50p (or whatever its worth) off your shopping for example bank the 50p saved.

Save boots, tesco, nectar points to spend next xmas rather than spend cash and again bank cash equivalant that you would have spent.

i'm looking to spend wisely on my food, gifts and bills etc so I can save as much of may salary as possible. I have 2 direcrt debits that go straight to my savings each months but as of now anything that is left in the bank on the next payday I will move to savings too.

Boot sales, ebay, post bits on the staff notice board at work (incurrs no costs this way!)

I too would like to try match betting but can't get my head around it, scared by the potentail huge losses too!! so have avoided

Am looking for any other genius ideas you guys may have to share.
    Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*
    2015 Savings Fund - £2575.00
  • Hi,
Never thought of using the staff notice board to sell stuff - great idea, all the better as its free! Our local shops, newsagents etc also have notice boards where you can pin notices for free, I always check out what's for sale, but now I will be adding some of my own adverts - no idea why I didn't think of this before??? :rotfl:
    CC 1 Halifax £4350(4.9%)
    CC 2 MBNA £6260 (5.4%)
    CC 3 Barclaycard 8500(0%)
    CC 4 Tesco £2500
    O/D £3000:eek:
