  • BigBeff I don't know about anyone else but I have no clue how I'm going to pay off 10k by the end of 2010... I'm single with a expensive mortgage too and TBH I really struggle to make ends meet but I'm looking at it as a insentive to try that little bit harder to pay off that little bit more. I don't expect to make 10k but ever extra £ I pay off while trying to make it has got to be a good thing :)
  • Ditto - here
all I can think of is entering comps and selling the few things I have on ebay - and if that all makes me 2k I'll be happy - just need to work out how to bring in the extra 8k.....

we going to try reducing our weekly budget to £100 (for food/petrol/activities etc)
The only other thing I think i could possibly do is start a parttime job - fixing computers/ writing software etc, but the problem is I'm knackered by the time I get home....

    anybody any ideas?

    Kevin

:rotfl: at Shady Daz!!! Pleased you've retired now! Hope the pension's not too bad!!

    I consider the pension to be two things;

    1. I am still alive.
    2. Not serving hard time.

So in that respect the pension is excellent thankyou...:rotfl:

  • Wowee!! No access to the internet for a few days and the post goes crazy!! :D

Ahhhh ……this is gonna be a long one! Lol…….;)

Hi Ragstoricheswannabe, No don’t panic think people only putting things in place for the Jan start ……least that’s what im doing anyway. :T

Hehe don’t need to subscribe as a few others have said too….just coming on here and saying your doing it is all you need

Hi Webitha, welcome to the challenge, 5k of savings!!! Jesus that would be nice!! – now I AM dreaming lol! …..one day …..

    Hi Kateg543, you don’t need to subscribe – don’t panic :p

Ann Summers parties are a great idea (but I would say that!) lol, if only I was a woman I could do something like that….see you women get Ann summers, virgin Vie, body shop - all sorts of that sort of thing for extra cash……think I might start one for guys!! ……hmmm…..maybe a p*rn and footy party or something lol!

Your so lucky with Egypt – hope you get that!!, id love to move out of the country, Canada, Australia or US, but really want to clear some debt first – got enough points to go there but Im worried about how to manage my finances remotely…..think ill do things one step at a time lol

    Bazwod –

Chris - yep, that was a bit of interrogation you put us under. It was too much pressure though, I couldn't handle it and buckled!!’
Ha!! You love the interrogation ;) lol

I work for the West Mids. But no accent! (no offence all you local brummies) Went to uni in Leics and then just ended up staying in the midlands. So do you reckon you might join? What sort of bit tickles your fancy?’
Sounds all good, not a bad place to live – but got your work cut out in the police there – least your not bored!! Lol Hmm yeah I might do, I applied for the MET and started the process but got offered the job im in now and money was ok so I took it….but just not sure what to do long term, I just cant afford to have any periods of un-employment.

‘And designing valves eh? Do you use fancy coloured pens to do pretty pictures?! I love stationery. Oddball i know.’
Oi – no don’t be cheeky I’m not a product designer lol ….its all about the engineering lol :p…design them more for function than ‘prettyness’ so no coloured pens for you unfortunately – you best stay in the police! Lol…….and ‘yes’ …….odd lol :rotfl:

‘And what's your shoulder setting you back for? Have you got an aim or is it just a general massive workout plan?’
Well I hope to have a go at competing in some low level powerlifting competitions sometime next year. I have been into weightraining, martial arts, all sorts for years – but really focusing on trying to do some competitive stuff in the new year, something else to focus my energy on. It was going OK……doh!!

Went for a swim last night and iced it up after, its feeling OK, but wont push it till next week I don’t think. Hows things with you?…I see you have been absent from the board this weekend too?! Lol

Hi Bigbeff – welcome mate. I know what you mean about mortage etc – I have hardly anything left over – well nothing – at the end of the month, gonna have to raise my cash by other means….

…..sounds like I should be asking Shadydaz for some pointers?!! ;) hehe

Good luck saving up that cash for debts Shady….and as for Disneyland, that will be amazing – but I can barely look after myself let alone four girls, I think I would loose them in the park! Lol

Amatheya81 – stop it right now lol, Ill confiscate your calculator lol – your scaring the living daylights out of me! Lol – Jesus I need to catch up wit you guys or I’m going to get the wooden spoon …………….I won £10 on a scratch card yesterday - £9,990 to go!!! Lol :D

    Hi Everyone

Can I join in too please? I have approximately £26000 in debt. I am currently on a DMP so would need to put any extra made into savings and hopefully pay off some in chunks. Plus I always need a huge kick up the **** to keep me on track.

    Good luck everyone.

Egypt is great but its not for making money! The wages are sooooo low here, unless you can work here but still be employed by the UK its very difficult. Im going back to the UK soon for this reason. But I have done 6 months here, time to go work my a** off and get myself a house! :D

    Hi Chris,

I too wish tob join this challenge, I have buried my head in the sand for far too long. Apart from my student loan, I also have debs totalling about £10K. Having just set up house with my partner we struggle to pay even the rent at the end of every month, not because I dont make enough, but because all my pay seems to go on financing my debts. So I have decided thaT 2010 will be different, maybe by the end of it, I will be able breathe a sigh of relief because I may actually have a small savings pot to my name.

I'll join in too although, like many on this thread, I have no idea where the extra money will come from! Best get entering some more competitions :)
